It is difficult to judge as I am sure we didn't get the full experience, so we will need to come back again to judge fully and give a better review. To start, I had to send my drink diet coke back as flat. Changed promptly and with good grace, no fuss. We didn't have starters. My lasagne was fine and tasty. My friends risotto had to go back as not cooked to al dente and wasn't cooked through. The waiter made a joke about the cook being in love ??. Don't get me wrong, everything was dealt with without fuss. It just seemed to miss the mark somehow. All the waiters were attentive and friendly, and the inside of the restaurant looked charming. They are dog friendly and we sat at this table which is near the door.

2nd time here as we're fairly new to the area. Both visits have been exceptional. The zucchini fritters are to die for... (we discovered these yrs ago and havent found a place that can do them as good...... until now!) ?The food is top draw and service is relaxed and personal. Can't fault this place at all. Magnifico! ?

We had a wonderful experience at Villa Italia! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious ? the pasta was perfectly cooked, the pizza had a great crust and rich flavour, and the desserts were a highlight. The berry cheesecake and tiramisu were both outstanding ? fresh, creamy, and full of flavour. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food!

Booked Villa italia for a company night out. Sawbridgeworth has an Italian gem. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Marino and his hard working team did not disappoint. Thank you guys for an amazing night out. All my clients messaged me afterwards they had an amazing time.

I love this gem of a restaurant! Went tonight with family visiting from France who are real foodies - so glad I brought them to Villa Italia, I think it's the best restaurant in the area (or at least of those I've tried!) and the family really enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. I love the cosy vibe and the fact that it's family run is just lovely, they're so welcoming. Looking forward to coming back soon!

We were recommended Villa Italia by family and are so glad we went! Superb meal! The owner and all staff were so welcoming and accommodating. They have so many gluten free options, we had the gluten free pizza and it was delicious! The milanese was also amazing. They cater extremely well for nut allergies. Food was fresh and just like in Italy. Deserts homemade and so yummy!

Went on a Weds and was really suprised at the amount of diners there, which made for a really lovely atmosphere.
Staff were fun, friendly and attentive - really knew the menu and made some great recommendations to us. Food was lovely!
