Spent a warm summers evening having dinner with friends in one of the outdoor huts and it was ideal for a friendly catch up over food & drinks. Harry was a brilliant server with down to earth chat, professional recommendations and transparency with pub information & availability on what was on offer. The menu is a little bit pricey but the food was so delicious we caught the chef himself - who we believe to be a new addition - and complimented our food. Every dish was delicious. Even if a bit pricey for a pub dinner.

Tasty and large meal of Fish and Chips. It was a lovely sunny day so having chosen to use one of the Pods was very nice.
Laynie looked after us very well.

9 of us arrived after 8pm for Spanish Tapas and it was DELICIOUS! The chef did a great job, all of the food was perfectly cooked and prepared. Becks and the front of house team were welcoming, friendly and couldn?t do enough for us! Thanks all! See you again soon ?

We had a lovely afternoon at the black horse, the food was delicious! Our pork chop and chicken supreme was outstanding! The service from our waitress Jena was brilliant and manager Rebecca came out for a chat as we are new to the area! Defo reccomend to friends and we will be back soon!

Just had Sunday lunch at the Black Horse in Chorleywood after a lovely dog walk around the common. The food was delicious. There was a little wait for food, but not a major problem. It?s good to see places busy. Our server Bethany was excellent. She was attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Great spot for a relaxed evening with classic pub fare. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout. There are dog-friendly tables, which is always a plus. They even provided balloons for a birthday celebration ? a lovely touch. We started with the antipasti board, which was both generous and delicious. For mains, we had the sausage & mash and the fish & chips ? both hearty and tasty. The only minor critique is that the fish batter was a bit thick and hard for our liking, but that comes down to personal preference.

Lovely atmosphere, traditional English pub, great food and fantastic service. Will definitely go back, and would recommend this pub to everyone.
