My 93yo Dad came to Houndswood House after a difficult period with illness which had seriously impacted his walking mobility. The welcome and care he has received since the very first day has been exemplary - so professional, so committed and so caring - not just faultless but exceptional in every way. Nothing is too much trouble and each and every member of staff has been so kind and caring - my Dad commented recently that all the staff take the trouble to have a chat with him at some point during the day. The food is outstanding - all freshly prepared - my Dad's appetite has improved a lot and to be honest I'm not surprised as the food is that good ! Aside from the care aspects - the nursing presence has been excellent - he had a minor eye irritation recently and the nursing staff have been so diligent in sorting it out - I feel whatever happens they will deal with it. If I had to sum Houndswood House up in a few words I would say - Professional, Warm and Kind

Without a doubt, Houndswood House Care Home is probably the best care home I have ever had the fortune of experiencing for a family member. Over the Xmas period, my mother became extremely ill with Covid. She is the main carer for my father who has MS and we needed him out of the house to ensure he would not catch it. Paolo at Houndswood House was not only incredibly empathetic and caring to liaise with, but went out of his way to ensure the staff were informed. My father and us were met with the kindest, warmest staff members. They had to move him into various rooms without complaints. The nurse (Sam?) was wonderful and intelligent with the 1000s of pills my Dad needs to take. The chef made personal visits to my Dad to ensure he was happy with the food on a kosher diet. The rooms and home feel more like a hotel and that is also down to the people that make it so welcoming. They also packed everything when my mum (free of covid) collected him so she didn?t need to spend time there fetching everything. Special thanks to Marilyn, Paolo, the chef and everyone who treated my Dad personally. The staff made my Dad feel like a human being and not a resident and we are so grateful. At Houndswood, the carers care. ??

Would NOT recommend after having repeatedly raised concerns.Watching my father dying in excruciating pain is something that will never go away.

Every time we visit with the nursery children, staff and residents are all so friendly and the children have so much fun. The staff cannot do enough to make us feel welcome and it has a lovely atmosphere. We always look forward to our visits.

I had the privilege of being invited to the Houndswood House Grand Opening where they got the opportunity to show off their newly refurbished home. The home is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. A great afternoon had by all!

All of the staff that I have met at Houndswood are incredibly caring, gentle and considerate to my 92 year old father. They treat him with dignity and kindness and he responds very well to them. It is always worrying when an elderly parent needs continuous nursing care but my mind was put completely at rest when I saw how well they interact with him. A big "thank you" to everyone from administrative staff down, including the kitchen staff who make appropriate meals, and especially to his nurses who spoon feed him with such consideration.
