Please be mindful when buying a new battery fitted for any device at Timpson?s Potters Bar. Ive just had a battery fitted to a car key fob and was completely unaware I was paying around £17 for the pleasure because I wasn?t made aware of it. In complete honesty I rang before visiting to ask if they sold fob batteries, i was informed they do. I informed the guy on the phone i didn't know how to open it and was told not to worry. Arrived at the store the guy replaced the battery and I was charged £20. When I arrived home my family said the same battery cost less than £3 on Amazon. I rang the store to enquire why i had paid that much and the guy got very shorty with me and informed me that in 16 years he had never been asked why a customer was paying for his service, in fact he said if I had brought in a pair of shoes to be repaired would I question why I was paying for the service. Ridiculous comparison. I simply said surely he could have just informed me that to pop open my key fob was going to cost me an additional £17 or so he ?his service?. He didn't agree and became quite unpleasant to speak to.
