Had my dad?s celebration of life in the drawing room, food was very tasty, catered for dietary requirements. Friendly and helpful staff. Made a hard day run smoothly.

Wonderful family get together in a warm cosy atmosphere. Excellent food from quality ingredients served by friendly, accommodating staff
Vegetarian options: Plant based burger was absolutely delicious moist and well cooked. Excellent French fries.
Parking: Free available in front of restaurant or opposite outside Willyotts.

I was appalled by racial remarks we were subjected to by three other customers. Sadly none of the staff members said anything and the three racist men were allowed to do as they wished. Would never recommend this place any decent person ?

Went for our Christmas do. Food was quite nice but service was terrible, ordered cocktails to start and half of them came out after the starters. They do not know hiw yo make a liquor coffee, it's was just a latte with alcohol in it not black with the cream floating on top how it should be.
It was cold downstairs and despite several complaints nothing was done, but when we walked upstairs it was lovely and warm but no offer was made to put us up there.
Over all it was a very underwhelming experience and I would expect a better standard for this restaurant

Looking at this place online I thought it would be a lovely cosy place to meet up with my brother and sister in law. It was extremely cold, the fire was nearly out. It took forever to bring our mains which were just about hot enough and the food nice although missing some items mentioned on the menu. We chose our sweets which should have been hot but were served freezing cold and had to go back to be heated up which we noticed another table had to do. My sister in law's gin and tonic was served with the tonic already in it which for her flooded the gin making it very weak. Although there were only 5 very small parties in there for lunch it took us 2 and a half hours to be served 2 courses and 2 rounds of drinks, we were told all the Guinness zero had been drunk over the weekend and they wouldn't be getting a delivery until Friday, that didn't bode well for any diners wishing to drink that within the next 5 days during the busy Christmas period.
It was such a shame as I was thinking this place would hit the mark but it was way off. Don't intend ever to revisit following this experience

We had Christmas lunch there, food was cold, from the soup to the apple crumble. We had to wait 1 1/2 hr between starter & main course. The Turkey was cut about 1? thick and the vegetables looked like they were from a frozen pack. Paid £90 per head without drinks. Won?t be going back again.
