Rude and Racially Insensitive Treatment
I requested a specific medication through my GP due to an allergy and also personally confirmed it with Well Pharmacy in St Albans. They agreed at first, but when I came to collect it, they had ordered the wrong item.
Instead of taking responsibility for the error, I was met with hostile and dismissive behaviour. One staff member interrupted me rudely when I began spelling my surname. Then, in front of my family and other customers, another said:
?This is not a charity?
This comment felt racially charged, targeted, and deeply humiliating.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable in a healthcare setting. I will be submitting a formal complaint to Well Pharmacy head office.

Well don't treat their staff well. Shoplifting rife and the pharmacist manager was subject to aggressive behaviour from a thief. Well head office promised a mirror and a bell (panic button?) but it never materialised. Manager then left so Well has expensive locums to hire as a result of their neglect. They may have locum insurance but a little solicitous attention towards staff and investment in customer service training would not cost as much as locums. Why are they not open on a Saturday? Because they can't get the staff!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Well pharmacy in London Colney is the biggest disgrace to its patrons and my whole family and I finally made the decision to move to a different pharmacy and it has proved to be one of the best decisions I have ever made in terms of how much stress and lack of proper care we are now seeing the back of.
The community of London Colney deserves a better and more reliable supplier of their regular medications. The wait times are slow, the staff will quote you a day to receive you medication as they miraculously ?never have it in? then, when you come back on the stated day, it?s still not ready, either it hasn?t come in yet or they haven?t had a chance to pack it. Then they give you option to either wait for 30-45 mins or come back the next day. The worst part is, when you try to ask them to explain the inconsistency and the lack of reliability, they become extremely defensive and rude and the other staff will come to the front desk and join the conversation to outnumber and belittle the customer, they seem to get a kick out of this sort of confrontation and I have witnessed on multiple occasions where they will do this and they will stand around talking badly and laughing about the customer after they eventually leave out of frustration. They have no regard for the impression this leaves on the other members of the public who witness the whole event. Overall, the whole team is unreliable and disrespectful and this is a constant issue with many people I know, this is the reason we are all opting to travel slightly further to a different pharmacy in exchange for genuine staff whose will treat you with basic courtesy and respect your time and will be honest with you if there are any delays.
I almost forgot to mention, even the phone line is not worth keeping open as they regularly ignore the phone and when they do pick up and you present them with a commonly asked question for a pharmacy i.e. please can you check if my medication is ready for collection (a regular question I found myself asking considering this pharmacy?s track record). They will regularly just say to come in and ask and just put the phone down, most often heard from the main male pharmacist.
In all honesty, this whole team needs to be removed and taken over by a brand new team who can revive this dying branch. It is solely down to this individual branch that all previous patrons I know and I will never again use a Well pharmacy until we see that Well have removed at least half of the team, most importantly the more senior staff as you can clearly see that the standards they set for their team are greatly flawed.

This place isn?t even worth a 1star absolutely disgusting the way they think they can speak and treat people, I called 2 hours before to see if they have the medication for my 2 year old before I went there I said okay can you just put it to the side and have it ready he said we have plenty it?s fine I was like okay then I went there at 6.15 gave whoever the rude women was at the desk the prescription she didn?t even acknowledge me she was to busy speaking to someone else few mins later I said how long will it take was told half an hour BUT THE PLACE CLOSES IN 15 mins and had me waiting there I said why didn?t u tell me instead of me standing there
I Said will it be ready today ?PROBABLY NOT?
I said this is why I asked to have it ready the Indian rude guy shouting across the chemist saying I called him 2 hours ago and he?s busy now yeah whatever your busy but don?t speak to me in a rude way because your so run down why is this place even open I don?t know
The fact I was going to stand there and wait 15 mins before closing and the answers I got
It?s not hard to say it?s not going to be ready till tomorrow MANNERS ISNT HARD !

Really bad service. Grumpies, unhelpfuls and irresponsibles. They are my London Colney local pharmacy, but they always make me go to another pharmacy not local.

Absolutely appalling service at this pharmacy in London Colney. The staff are extremely rude, miserable, unhelpful, don't listen to what customers have to say and just don't like dealing with people. Recently, I went to collect my medication and was told quite sternly by the Sales Assistant that I cannot state that I "prefer" a brand. The note must state that I "cannot tolerate" other brands. I seem to encounter this on almost every visit as I pick up my prescriptions monthly. All other brands give side effects so I need the specific brand, so it's totally pointless giving me anything else. The Sales Assistant ignored what I was telling her and continued to blurt out her message. The lady at the back of the pharmacy, referred to in other reviews as the short woman with glasses, decided to intervene as there was a problem. She explained in a very abrupt manner that I cannot request a specific brand. The pharmacy can order 2 brands only, so they are unable to prescribe anything else. It doesn't matter if the doctor specifies a brand, the pharmacy cannot accommodate specific requests. Total lies and misleading information amongst the Pharmacy staff. Firstly, If they are unable to supply a specific brand, why did the Sales Assistant tell me the doctor needs to state "cannot tolerate" other brands?? If they can order 2 brands only as the short woman said, then why have they dispensed the brand requested on this occasion and most other times previously. They obviously don't like ordering my brand as it clearly costs more and there is less profit margin for the pharmacy. I'm sure they just like to cause distress, conflict and disruption. It probably makes their day as they are all miserable with faces like thunder each time you visit. Customers should never be made to feel they are a nuisance and should be respected at all times. Think about your customers first and foremost, not a service that makes you the most money. You won't make any money if you don't have any customers. Sadly, it's the only pharmacy in London Colney so many persons hands are tied. I think that's the basis they operate on. As many other reviews state, the sooner another pharmacy opens then the sooner people can switch and this pharmacy closes down. Keep well and fingers crossed you don't need to use this pharmacy!!!!!!

The assistant wanted me to wear a mask although I was clearly having trouble breathing. Not even in lockdown were people expected to wear a mask if they had breathing difficulties. I explained that my cough was not contagious as it was caused by cancer but she insisted that the mask was for my benefit. She clearly needs more customer training. Either that or she was being racist due to my Polish name. She then said I was shouting at her, when I could barely speak. We have been left with only one pharmacy in London Colney, we are in desperate need of another.

This has to be the worst pharmacy in the uk never got stock never open they might as well sell the shop to another chain that is able to provide a service to the locals what is a shame as it is the only local pharmacy serving london colney

Wish I could leave zero stars. Rude, abrupt, unfriendly and incompent staff. Have come home and signed up to Lloyd's delivery so thankfully won't be needing their services again.
