Our family and friends had a most wonderful day at this grand 19th Century Country House. We chose the Music Room, with its feature fireplace and beautiful high ceiling, to celebrate my granddaughter?s birthday. The manager Caroline graciously allowed us to come in the morning to prepare and decorate, and checked on our needs during that time, she was most kind. The afternoon staff did a great job in serving our small guests and adult friends alike, they were very professional and courteous. Special mention goes to Chloe for all her wonderful help and thoughtfulness . We chose one formal long table with Alice in Wonderland theme decor, seating 23 children. Parents sat at another table where tea and light snacks were available. The party was an absolute success, when the guests walked into the Music Room, their jaws dropped in admiration of the magical grandeur. The refreshments and finger foods were supplied by the hotel?s restaurant, the sandwiches and sweets were very fresh and delicious, stylishly arranged on 3 tier silver stands, vegetables and dips on cute little trays and hot chocolate in small delightful ceramic pots. There was plenty of room for our entertainer to keep all kids active and dancing. Restrooms are on the same level as the Music Room, the first floor, accessible by a staircase only, no lift. The hotel is a Grade II listed impressive building and it has quite an interesting history. As this was a cold day in March, we did not use the carefully tended gardens, but we did briefly see a deer.

Ordered a shot of whisky only to be told after it was poured that it was £15 a shot (this is for a £60 bottle.) I understand they need to make a profit but this is taking things to an extreme.

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque area of Harrow. Enjoyed the afternoon tea as a special 2 for 1 offer. Staff friendly but slow.

Fantastic craftsmanship and atmosphere in this beautiful old hotel and grounds - they have a number of giant California Redwoods in their trail walks, definitely recommend!

Second visit but disappointed. We went for Afternoon Tea.The food is really poor quality for £36.95 per head. Sandwiches were very basic and cakes were cold and Rick hard. We asked them if they were made at the restaurant and the answer we received was Chef is on holidays for 2 weeks so these are shop bought. Coffee was very weak as hardly any coffee in it. Brown bread for sandwuch was dry as if it was left out for couple of days.Cutlery well used and couldn't believe that the stainless steel spoon was black and had a little piece of metal missing which could be dangerous if used to eat. See picture of the spoon attached.Any questions we asked to the waitress, she had no clue and had to go and ask in the kitchen. No management at all.Last but not least, Afternoon Tea was booked for 1pm but food didn't come to us till 1.40pm.The venue is great but shame about the food quality and cutlery and lack of management.

We went to celebrate a birthday. The party was great - because of the people - the food itself was ok; getting a decent cup of tea took some patienceNoteworthy details: The hotel was originally the house of w s Gilbert and the large room had a barrel roof and magnificent marble fireplace, with a squirrel.

We hosted my Dad's 80th birthday party at the Grim's Dyke Hotel on Saturday night for 40 people. It was a fantastic experience. The staff were very helpful, the sit down dinner was delicious and the room and hotel grounds in particular are very grand and impressive. An excellent venue if you want to celebrate a special occasion.Food & drinks: Traditional and delicous three course meal served.

Unique house with an interesting history, once owned by W.S. Gilbert, librettist of the wonderful Gilbert & Sullivan operas.

Really lovely Christmas stop over. Beautiful gardens [I saw bambi], great breakfast, comfortable room, and amazing, helpful staff. Rooms In The Annexe were fine, but a tad dated, the shower curtain is not clean and invades the bathing /showering experience [i would suggest, for hygiene purposes, they replace the shower curtain with glass], hence 5 stars. Was expecting a Christmas dinner menu, but there was none. That being said, breakfast was, as mentioned before, delicious. I would definitely visit again during warmer wearher.Rooms: Comfortable rooms but shabby shower curtainWalkability: Beautiful walking grounds, great for a spot of rambling.Food & drinks: Top notch breakfastNoteworthy details: If you stay in Annexe, get a garden room. Wild life walks right up to the gardens.
