We visited on a lunchtime, nice old quaint village pub with good parking. The lunch menu was good and the quality and value of the meals we ordered was really rather good. The service was fine though they were busy which was good to see. Some of the nicest and best value pub lunches we have had in a long time.

Hadn't been here for a good few years, but was pleasantly surprised... service was good and the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, also well cooked, ??to the chef...also they sell Aspells cider which is my favourite so that was an added bonus..will definitely be back ...Safety: In a small village, on a quiet roadFood & drinks: Worth going to the pub just for the food

Been visiting this quaint pub for approx. 30 years but only in the summer time as indoors is a bit cramped. However the rear garden can be entertaining with various on site and visiting birds and animals paying a visit if you are lucky.Also a good range of beers/drinks and food at reasonable prices. We'll worth a visit.

A charming county pub with friendly and helpful staff. We only stopped for a drink in the garden. Wild rabbits and deer are visible in the adjacent field which only adds to the experience.

So many good reviews about this pub, perhaps we went there on a bad day. Staff were friendly, but food was terrible. My chicken was overcooked and smelt/tasted of fish! Menu said it came with salad and chips, but it was served with new potatoes, cauliflower and carrots. I wasn't aware what it came with at the time because food was ordered by a third party beforehand, otherwise I may have said something. I hardly touched the chicken, but complaining there and then I feel extremely awkward about!

We dropped in for lunch whilst walking. I had a decent pint of Greene King and ordered cod n' chip. The chips were fine, but the 'cod' bore no relationship to the fish of that name. It was yellowy/grey and unappetising, and a sample mouthful put me off entirely.

Didn't use the rooms, so cannot comment.Called in for food after working in the area.Traditionally old style pub, with wooden floors.Lovely chilled out atmospherePolite friendly welcoming staff.Dog friendly, our furbaby received treats & a bowl of water.Lovely tasty food.Will be going back again.

Food was excellent. Hand prepared and fresh.Room was very cold and we had to keep our coats on.But the food was great and very reasonably priced.
