Booked a cambelt check online for a Saturday at 8:30. The confirmation email asked that I be there 10 minutes earlier and to be prepared to leave my car all day, which I was. But upon arrival, the gentleman in reception told me they didn?t need the car ? not sure how you check a physical component without the car but ok, let?s proceed. So he asked for my reg number and told me my cambelt should have been changed at 70k miles and that was the cambelt check I paid £5 and drove a 25 mile round trip for., even though this is the description on the website: ?Identifies issues with your cambelt early, Precise quote for a cambelt replacement?When noticing I wasn?t too pleased with this ?inspection?, another worker said ?the website is very misleading?. Surely that?s something you as a company need to address instead of blatantly lying to customers?I have been trying to speak to customer services about this for 2 weeks and I?ve been ignored at every turn apart from a lady who offered me a £5 gift card to shut me up. Horrendous service all around.

HalfordsUSELESS!! They offer a timed booking service which they don?t honour or abide to. Booked to have 2 tyres changed at a specific time as I had appointments to be at later that day. Turned up 15 minutes prior to my appointment to be told someone in front of me was 40 minutes late for their appointment so only just going in so my car won?t be done until 1.5 hours later than scheduled. Absolutely disgusting as anyone who is late for their appointment should be fitted in as and when they have time, and not push back the whole days worth of appointment. AVOID unless you are happy leaving your car there all day!!Was asked to contact Halfords on this review response. However trying to was put through to someone called Alash which was a total waste of time.Please add an email for me to contact you to ? resolve this ?

Avoid like the plague for MOT tests!Firstly I would like to point out I am a Halfords premium member. I have long been a satisfied Halfords customer, and this is not simply an anti-Halfords rant, but this test centre needs to fix its MOT tester issue urgently.My car was wrongly failed for "exhaust shield missing where fitted as original equipment [6.1.3(e)]" when the car was in fact fitted with ALL of its factory heat shields.When querying this with the MOT tester he said my vehicle should have an additional heat shield around the fuel tank. I explained to the MOT tester that his opinion on whether the car should have an additional shield in a certain area is irrelevant, as the official parts diagram shows this part never existed and thus my car was presented as it came supplied from the factory at the time of testing.I was then met with a defensive response and he told me he didn't have time to re-look at my car and I should crawl around on the floor and look for myself, which I did in their car park and confirmed my factory heat shield was still fitted (photo attached). I was then fobbed off and told to appeal the decision with the DVSA - which I am now doing.The store manager was sympathetic with my situation, but ultimately unable to influence the decision as he said they only have the 1 MOT tester working at this branch and he is an agency employee of the DVSA, not an employee of Halfords.The MOT tester's name is Stoyan Petrov Kozarev and in my opinion he should be stripped of his authority to carry out MOT tests having demonstrated a gross level of negligence and incompetence in testing, as well as a generally poor attitude towards anyone who dares to challenge his authority.Halfords, if you are reading this, for your own reputation I urge you to stop using Mr Kozarev and employ someone who is competent and able to correctly interpret the MOT test guidance notes.I have now wasted half of my weekend, associated petrol costs, and am left with a vehicle declared legally unroadworthy until my DVSA appeal is acknowledged and the car gets reinspected, for no reason other than Mr Kozarev's ineptitude.

Only used them for my MOT because I had a money off voucher. Car failed, they couldn't do the repair (luckily for me), saved over £200 getting the car repaired elsewhere. I won't be back.

Had a couple of MOT tests carried out here towards the end of 2023 and have to say I think the service was very good indeed. The Manager is very welcoming and all the staff I interacted with were very friendly. There is a viewing area where you can observe what?s going on and it?s a very busy workshop indeed. I would definitely consider using them again for my motoring needs.

There is nothing wrong with staff or service but customer service online & phone is criminal.Money happily taken for a non-existent service online. It is currently proving next to impossible to get my money back.Urge customers to do everything in person. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING ONLINE. Your wallet will be emptied faster than Fagin on amphetamines

I have changed all 4 tyres and paid for them via online halfords services assuming they are new tyres as quoted. Doesn't not say anywhere they are second hand, and now I realised they appear to be reconditioned tyres. I have only changed them two-three weeks ago, and today went in for service and they gave me back the report saying the tyres are at 69%!!! I probably didn't even do 200 miles on those, and how can they be at 69% already! Don't trust them when getting "new" tyres fitted.

I am writing this review with sheer frustration and disappointment following my recent experience with Halfords Autocentre Letchworth. I had booked my car in for a service, expecting a seamless process, only to encounter a series of inconveniences that have left me thoroughly dissatisfied.Firstly, my early morning appointment on Saturday was abruptly canceled the night before, citing "unforeseen colleague issues." This last-minute cancellation not only inconvenienced me but also raised concerns about the reliability of the service.Hoping to resolve the situation promptly, I called the number provided on Monday just after 9 am. However, the ordeal continued as I waited an astonishing 58 minutes before finally reaching someone. To my dismay, the earliest available appointment was 20 days later. This level of service and response time is wholly unacceptable, particularly considering the urgency of car maintenance.Given the circumstances, I made the decision to request a refund for the service, which amounted to over £300. I was informed that the refund process would take up to 5 working days. I am currently awaiting the refund and hope that this aspect of the experience, at the very least, is handled promptly and efficiently.My experience with Halfords Autocentre Letchworth has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I urge potential customers to think twice before entrusting their vehicles to this establishment. The inconvenience, lack of communication, and disregard for customer commitments have left me deeply dissatisfied, and I am reconsidering my plans to proceed with the scheduled MOT.I hope that my review serves as a cautionary tale for others and prompts Halfords Autocentre Letchworth to address the systemic issues that have led to such a dismal customer experience.

I just put 4 new tyres and the staff are very careful and they did good service and they even clean my rims they did something that other mechanic would never doI really recommend this autocentre.

Not overly impressed with Halfords Auto centres. The customer is expected to jump through loops to make the job more convenient for Halfords.You can't seem to pop in and get a new tyre fitted you have to order and book a slot and then leave it with them for their convenience.On the plus they swapped my damaged tyre for my emergency spare wheel allowing me to return when the new tyre was fitted. The cost of the tyre was the cheapest quote but sometimes you don't mind paying extra to get the job doneThat being said it seems the way with most tyre fitters they don't carry any stock.
