Generous and delicious cooked breakfasts, (one gf), eggs boiled to perfection, the non-gf one on nice sourdough bread. Coffee served in thick ceramic cups- vital to keep it at a good temperature and not tepid in minutes. Perfect break in middle of a 240 mile car journey.

Very disappointing experience?
We paid £30, for two breakfast, and nothing was freshly made. Re-heated food, barely cooked bacon, and sausages.
My partner has different intolerances, and no one asked anything about this.
Once flagged, they couldn?t guarantee to minimise any cross contamination.
And, to conclude, once we arrived, we had to wait over 20 minutes for them to come and take the order. As they forgot we were waiting!

First time visiting here with my partner. She had a sandwich that was ok my meal was the English breakfast about £11.50 which is at the top end for a breakfast
The tomato was perfect, the beans were ok and served in a nice bowl, the hash browns tasted pre-cooked and odd not fresh and crisp. The sausages were poor quality I thought it was me so I gave one to my partner she could not eat it I left the half of one. I had the sour dough, it was overcooked and so hard I had to leave a slice. The bacon was ok but nothing special. There is no failure only feedback so I would say for the type of quality breakfast that they could offer I would say buy sausages made with a good quality meat to fat ratio no rusk. Rusk overkill in sausages denotes cheap low quality produce. By the time I got 1/2 way through the meal I didn't want to keep going it took all the pleasure out of the meal. The staff are friendly and the service was great but I didn't want to cause a fuss and complain at the time. I hope they do make these few small changes as it's a good clean place and I'd like to give it another try. The coffee was awesome.

In often pop in, normally for a drink, I'm yet to eat in but I can't wait, the staff are wonderful,it's a really chilled place, nice and comfortable too.

Food is excellent. Jacket potato cooked perfectly, substantial portions and salad dressed with balsamic and olive oil which is always a good sign . Good value for money. Server could?ve smiled and been more friendly but other than that will come again.

Visited today 2 flat whites 2 slices of toast with marmalade toast overdone price over £14. This is extortionate when queried staff member rather rude, no wonder businesses are closing.

If you love a full English, the Chateau cafe is a prime destination in Hoddesdon High Street. There's plenty of comfy seats with a small playroom for tots to the rear. Wifey had avocado with smoked salmon of generous proportions. A great addition to local eateries.
