Ordered online from these guys was met to a ridiculously small portion considering price, chips were undercooked mushy and freezing cold, the sausage was crusty dry and hard and resembled no sausage I had seen. My partner had an omelette. He eats anything and everything but could not even eat half the omelette before he started to feel sick. Today one day after eating your food and that being the only thing we both consumed were both extremely unwell today. Wouldn?t advise not worth the money or potential risk on your health. Very sad as I was looking forward to this meal and instead was disappointed and still hungry with two basically full meals in the bin.

A difficult day really. I argued with my wife about the ridiculous prices in the first café we stopped at in Hitchin, so we left and wandered up Hermitage Rd to the Hitchin Café expecting reasonable prices from a bog standard, out of centre eatery.
Unfortunately I had to eat humble pie (with my wife - not the café)
It was even more expensive than a well known chain in the centre of town, and, I'm convinced, of much lower quality! Sorry Mrs B, my bad.....
To be fair, the staff were lovely and the place was spotlessy clean.
But the food, oh the food (and the prices) were...... urghhhh.
Mrs B paid fortunes (in my opinion) for a set breakfast that consisted of a couple of rashers, two black pudding, and an egg - £11+....... toast and coffee were extra. In protest at the prices (at least Dick Turpin wore a mask) I ordered nothing but scrambled egg on toast at £6.70.
The black pudding was overcooked and the scrambled eggs were more dry and bland than a really dry and bland thing. And it was twenty three bloody quid in total!!!
Certainly won't be going back there when there are more eateries than ants to choose from in Hitchin.

Lunch at this nice cafe. Welcoming waitress who is very attentive as well. Food choice is vast n reasonably priced. The food is good esp the onion ring (battered n nicely fried). The portion is big n they pack for us the left-overs. Very friendly Chef n staff.

I?ve been going to Hitchin café since I was really young, everyone there is always so friendly and polite. The food is an 11/10 and I?ve never had one bad experience

Although it was my fault for not checking the menu at the Café before I ordered, I definitely did not expect to spend nearly TWENTY pounds on a breakfast. The medditerranean breakfast was twice the price of 3 years ago but not much better. Undercooked mushrooms and boiled eggs from several days ago - the sausage, halloumi, and fried tomato were ok. The coffee was too milky and weak for a cappuccino. I read such good reviews about this place, and had the pricing been a bit better, perhaps I wouldn't be quite ap Scathing, but for 18.93, I expected way better than what I got.

Chef's special breakfast with two black pudding and one fried slice instead of toast or bread and butter. Excellent meal. Polite and friendly service.What more can you ask for! Next time I'll have to remember to take a quick picture and post it.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level access straight from pavement.
