Visited for drinks in beer garden. Tables could do with a clean and shade depends on the sun moving behind the castle wall, but hey ho the drinks are great value so mustn't grumble.

This is a great place for a quick drink and a bite to eat. Very reasonably priced for food.
Bit slow on service last week when I was there but this is the first time I've experienced a wait.

Great food - fish and chips, the fish was so tasty and the batter really crispy. Others had all-day breakfast and burger- empty plates all round. Super quick service and friendly staff. Love this place.

Would have gave better rating ,but we were there for over an hour but we're unaware of a problem with the kitchen not being able to cook many meals from their menu. Really they should have displayed a sign on door before entry!!! Otherwise we might not have entered.

Has to be the worst weatherspoons we have been too. Went on Saturday afternoon for a meal to find there was no food, though notice on door (though when door left open, you couldnt see notice) said limited menu, it was should have said no meals available, but did explain why it has to be the emptiest I ever experienced a weatherspoons on a Saturday afternoon.
Always willing to give a place a second chance we went back Sunday for breakfast, to find out from a member of staff that all that was available was egg benedict or toast. All the other cafes in Hertford were really busy, the Six Templars had 3 customers.
We enjoyed the food and service from other restaurant and cafes in Hertford for the two days, so would recommend if you are hungry try the competition first, as they had no food problems and were able to accommodate our party of 10.

While the food was good it took a few attempts to get right. While I just wanted the error to be corrected instead they fought me at every turn instead. When the person who made the initial error came he fixed it right away. The attitude given was entirely unacceptable and unnecessary. Poor customer service.

I was on a cycle ride without a bike lock, so needed somewhere with outdoor tables where I could keep an eye on my bike and order a light lunch. I ordered a pint of Thornbridge Jaipur IPA and a small chicken shawarma wrap. Both arrived speedily. Value, quality and service all excellent.

Not bad if you want cheap family meal, but no atmosphere
Update. This Wetherspoon has definitely improved and now has some atmosphere.
