In Mar 2025 at 1815 on a Wed, I parked my vehicle outside the store in a dedicated parking bay.
As I left the store with my young daughter a Coop HGV delivery truck was egressing from the site and collided with the entire driver side of my vehicle whilst it was parked stationary. The extent of the damage was significant and the driver was completely unaware he had made contact with the vehicle and almost didn't stop. The car, a new BMW iX, sustained close to 20k in damages and is still under repair.
Aside from shock at the incident, no one was fortunately hurt.The driver of the Coop HGV was somewhat flippant abput the event and during exchange of insurance details even suggested I was serving to delay his onward deliveries. When speaking to the store manager the following day to suggest the safety of customers should be better considered during deliveries, particualarly where HGV's are concerned, I was informed that there was nothing she could do as it was 'above her pay grade' and was given a customer service contact detail to contact Unsatisfied with the response, I asked to speak with the area/regional manager. I instead received a call and voicemail from the same store manager who advised again of the customer service number to contact should I wish to discuss the grievance further.
Coop also state that distribution and stores as being two separate and unrelated business units, which effectively served as some form of poor excuse to do nothing.
Coops third party insurance company, FMG, were helpful, as were the staff on shift at time of incident who were helpful and provided Cctv footage of the incident. It's just bizarre that the Coop mgmt see no remit to better consider safety exclusion zones during deliveries to prevent someone from.being seriously injured or killed.

I was shouted out by the maneger over a energy drink which I had I?d for but because someone who didn?t have id was with me they shouted in my face telling me I couldn?t get it

What has happened to this store???
This used to be everyone's local store, perfect, friendly and convenient. What Happened?
Now the counter has been boarded up and no one interested in serving you... 3 self service tills and nobody on the counter.
3 or 4 staff running around picking orders for collection/delivery but zero customer service. It is such a shame, this used to be a good experience.
