I visited Hemel specsavers back in April to get my eye tests done. The staff was welcoming & explained everything about tests. It was well organised & I was seen by Selina. This was first time I was getting my glasses so she explained everything in detail & did the eye test. Prescription glasses were then ordered with great help from Sabha. She provided all options nicely and I ordered & collected glasses within weeks. At collection Alex helped me as I was first timer with getting adjusted to lenses etc. Selina & Alex made sure I was happy & comfortable with them before I leave the shop.After few weeks then I ordered my sunglasses too & it was again great help from Vlad choosing & spec one for me it was excellent!Overall five stars & highly recommend Hemel shop as staff is professional & helpful all times

We are so delighted with our Optometrist Selina Holmes, her care for our 2 young boys has been outstanding. She is so friendly, gentle and patient with them (and us!) and clinically very experienced and knowledgeable that we only ever request to see her? Vlad was also very helpful with frame selection and fitting for the boys. We are very happy with the store and actually look forward to our appointments! Thank you

Visited last week. They performed the test way too quick. They didn?t let me to see the difference between current and recommend lenses. They just want to you get new glasses and go!

My husband and I both had eye tests today 10.55am100% Service from start to finish.No waiting seen straight away.Luke did pretest he was friendly and helpful telling us what each test was for.Kausi my optometrist was lovely telling me how my test was going and results of OCT test.Shamil was very helpful and friendlyshowing me frames and fitting new glasses.My husband was also pleased with all the service and staff.look forward to getting new glasses.xx

As a first time customer, I had no idea what to expect from the eye test appointment. I was led through what I assume was a triage appointment (nothing was explained to me). I was then left to sit and wait with no indication as to how long I would be waiting. The optician was the best part of the appointment, she was very informative and definitely seemed to know her stuff.After this I was left on the shop floor to pick out my glasses with very little information as to what I needed. The man who then spoke to me informed me that I could get both pairs of lenses and glasses I needed at a reasonable price, however I didn't have enough money at the time. I was then informed I could pay over the phone, so I left assuming my information would be logged on the system. When I phoned in to pay the following day, I was then informed that I in fact was unable to pay over the phone. I was unable to return to the store until the following weekend, where i was then informed that due to the nature of my glasses, I would not be able to claim them under the NHS as i had originally been told, and the price of my glasses which I need for my occupation, would cost more than twice the original price quoted. I am very unhappy with the service I received and can say with confidence that I will never set foot in their store again. Abysmal.

I had an appointment for an eye test today and my experience was SO positive - the service I received at this branch was excellent. This was despite the fact I had to bring my baby along to the appointment as I had no alternative childcare.My pretest was with a really friendly young man called Luke who had a highly professional approach and was a great conversationalist.My eyes were tested by Zebi Mann who was the most patient, friendliest and empathetic staff member I've ever come across! This made my experience at the store very positive. She was professional and kind throughout, despite my baby having a little crying fit during the appointment. I do hope she receives the recognition she deserves.Wanted to give my positive feedback as they are an asset to the company. Please ensure this message is passed onto Luke, Zebi and their management.

The only good thing was the optician who saw me. I waited over half an hour past my appointment to be seen, rhen when choosing my glasses felt a little rushed, he eventually left me to it to see others, didn't feel cared for at all. In the end I took my prescription and left Test and waiting in total 1 and a half hours and no glasses in the end.

I was given an immediate appointment as I had sore eyes and blurred vision. Everything was explained extremely well and the treatment suggested started to work straight away. I'm Very grateful

Such an excellent and efficient service. From entering was made to feel welcome, pre screeners are so attentive, Optician was very informative and knowledgeable. The dispenser not pushy at all and made me feel comfortable and gave me honest advice about my new specs. Overall excellent service from eveyone!

My partner paid £110 to thin his lenses. When he collected them they appeared thicker than his previous set which are of the same prescription. When he queried this the staff advised that it is very much down the size frames that are chosen that will depend on how obvious the thickness will be. The difference in the size of frame was 1mm. The colleague who served us initially was rude and abrupt and didn't seem to want to help in any way. We then spoke with the branch manager and she also did not seem to want to help. At no point did any member of staff apologise for us not being made aware that the sizing of frames chosen was going to be such an important part of what they would look like when they were finished. You expect a trained member of staff to help you pick the best frame for your lenses. If he had known these frames were not the best option he would never of picked them and would have gone with a different frame. My partner requested a refund for the thinning itself and the manager agreed but said she would have to keep the lenses but we could still take the frames which is useless as my partner needs his glasses (to literally see....) He has since filed a complaint with head office and cancelled his direct debit and will be moving to another company. Completely disgusted in how the situation was dealt with today at the Hemel Hempstead branch and will not be returning.
