Told I could transfer my account and would receive a payment . Went through the process and completed the steps . Them got told the payment you receive for switching is only for people who previously banked with nationwide . I went in specifically to ask if I could get this deal and she asked me a series of questions and informed me I could get this. It?s upsetting that she miss sold their product and wasted my time .

Nationwide has always been good at customer service and today was no exception. I went in to sort out an ISA and it was very quick and easy. Thanks.

On the 15th April 2025 I visited this branch with my son who wanted to open an ISA. He waited in the queue but was told by the assistant Ella behind the desk that it couldn't be opened today as there was no one qualified to open it and that he had to come back another day. I went to the desk and spoke to the lady at desk 2 explaining to her that my son had Aspergers and I had come down especially with him as he is not always available to do this. The lady said she was not qualified to do it, I asked if i could wait and see another lady who was there and opened an ISA for myself only last week and was told yes so we waited to one side .Ella shouted I have already told him he cant see anybody what doesn't he understand. Whilst waiting another customer an elderly gentleman approached Ella with a problem and I could not believe the way she spoke to him telling him she couldn't do anything for him so please go now. She looked across at me and I said your attitude is appalling and you are much too abrupt, to my amazement she smirked and smiled back saying Thank you.she was continuously chewing gum. Another lady working there is always very helpful and said i will be with you in a minute and we went in and the Isa was opened with no trouble at all..I felt the attitude of Ella was very uncalled for and speaking to customers in this manner is very unprofessional.

All the staff are very professional and friendly but most of all they have an abundance of common sense which is sadly lacking online. I always prefer the face to face experience and always find it a pleasant experience coming to the Hemel branch because of the team.

Donna was fantastic , it's not even my local branch but Donna picked up an overflow call to head office from myself.Donna managed to sort out everything despite conflicting info being given to her from nationwide switch team .Donna was brilliant and a real asset to the company
