I've used this hotel a lot over the last few years as I travel a lot for work. The best bit of this hotel is the staff. They are friendly, kind, humourous. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are ok. Smaller than some other hotels but perfectly serviceable. The food selection at breakfast is good. There are busy periods where things disappear quickly but there are signs suggesting when the busy periods are if you want to avoid that. There's a good selection of beers, ciders etc. behind the bar too.Location wise, there are great restaurants over the canal or about a 10 minute walk up the road. In the summer go for a walk along the canal, it's mostly flat and is lovely after a day in the office. My only gripe is that car parking can be difficult. The car park is shared with the neighbours and at peak times finding parking can be hard. But really that's my only complaint.

A very nice and cozy hotel, if it weren't for the traditional English breakfast it would be perfect...

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for an extended stay and they've been brilliant. Helen and all the team on reception could not have been more kind and helpful, we have a small dog with us and they've given her treats (and fuss!) and have made sure we have everything we need. Rooms are clean, modern and tidy and good accessibility. Good selection at breakfast and options for dinner, plus bar on site. Everyone on staff super friendly. Plus right opposite train station with links into London. Good accessibility too (have health issues and no problems at all).

Friendly service, room more than adequate, free parking and breakfast included. The only minus is the English-style breakfast and powdered coffee. But on the plus side, very good croissants.

The location is unbeatable and the service is fabulous, attentive to everything and willing to help. Every time I go to London I stay there, the train stop is a 2-minute walk away, you just have to cross the road. To go to Harry Potter studios, the location is unbeatable, oh and you can get to the center of London in about 30 minutes. In December I will stay here again. Everything fantastic. The breakfast was great too, and everything was very clean.

Needed a hotel close to a train station after a day of meetings in hemel. The hotel rooms are pretty basic but have what you need. The staff is extremely nice and professional . Next day I woke up and walked 2 minutes to the train station so it was definitely a great choice.

We recently toured the UK, staying in a variety of lower end accommodation and family room options, including Holiday Inn, Premier Inn and Travelodge. We found the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express family rooms to be pretty unpleasant and not suitable for a family with children over the age if day 10. We were so disappointed with this brand and experience that we cancelled further bookings in both the UK and Spain.Whilst their two competitors provided single beds, the Holiday Inn relies on an existing sofa in a double room, which then becomes a sofa bed where two 'children' up to the age of 17 and regardless of gender are expected to share a rather cramped and uncomfortable mattress which is not sufficiently supported by the superficial fold-out frame of the sofa bed.As others have noted, the room itself is ridiculously small, with limited space to move in the room once said sofa 'bed' has been pulled out. Car parking here was unnecessarily complicated and difficult, and I do wish this hotel would take note from it's more superior competitors and pay attention to small details, like providing 4 mugs in a family room of 4. Children and teenagers like hot drinks too.
