I was giving 0 stars if I could.
Booked 2 tires to be fitted and a wheel alignment for 8:30am Saturday. The opening time is 8am to 5pm. The site was closed at 8:30, the manager came with the key at 8:37 and just told us that he can't proceed with the will alignment as the machine is broken. If this machine was broken was not easier to tell us from yesterday? It didn't broken during the night I guess.
All around super super unprofessional treatment. Shocking and I will never use again any Halfords

Booked and paid for MOT online at a specific time slot and booking took my car registration so they knew make and model.
On arrival was told they were busy and there would be a wait I.e. beyond the time slot booked. After about a half hour wait when they took my car in I was told they couldn't do my MOT as their ramp wasn't big enough for my car.
The car was a standard size BMW 5 series G30. But their online booking system knew my car in advance, the branch said they didn't see that information.
Complete waste of time and journey. Complained to customer services by phone who offered me ?£15 in Halford vouchers as a goodwill gesture.
Refund eventually issued to my credit card and I had to get MOT at Kwik Fit 2 days later who were great.
Parking at this branch is dreadful also. Will never go her again.

Great friendly service. Managed to get a diagnostic check with 30 minutes notice. Fixed the issue and even gave me something to absorb the oil on my garage floor for free.

I recently took my wife's car to this garage for its MOT. The technician who conducted the MOT did an excellent job and identified that both front wishbones/suspension arms needed to be replaced. Although the MOT failed, I appreciated the opportunity to redo it for free a week later.
When I inquired about the cost to replace the two front wishbones/suspension arms, I was quoted nearly £660, which I found to be quite expensive. After seeking a second opinion at another garage close by, I was charged only £240 for the same service, nearly £420 less. This discrepancy is quite concerning.
After the replacement, the car passed the MOT without any issues. I recommend checking prices at multiple garages before proceeding with repairs at this location.

Absolutely clueless I took my car for diagnostics at the Hemel branch and left worried because of what I was informed I then took my car to a proper garage which informed me none of the diagnostics given by Halfords were correct, I will say I used Halfords at boreham wood and they were very professional. I?m writing this review because they said I had electrical faults and when the mechanic told me he found it amusing and I certainly did not. Be cautious with there diagnosis and definitely get a second opinion

Special Thanks to Costas for fantastic customer service and great support when my MX5 needed a 02 sensor replacement and subsequent visits for the service and MOT.
Mazda sent Halfords the wrong part, then wanted to charge more for an alternative part after promising a quoted cost. Costas the gentleman he is, waved the additional charges and gave me a reduced service / fitting charge for the inconvenience once the part arrived.
5 stars for Costas and the team who performed the works on my car!

Costas did an excellent job with my tyres. There was an issue with the valves and Costas managed to source the part on the day. Superb service from Costas. Keep up the good work Costas!

Horrible autocentre, i had appointment today for major service and MOT, suppose to pick my car at 17:00, when I arrived at centre they guy who was sitting at front desk, he said come and pick up your car next Wednesday, as MOT is not done yet, can you believe that he didn't either disclose his name and he crossed out his name on vehicle health report and he cancelled the MOT despite of calling Halfords and sending email to halfords customer care.

I am writing to share my terrible experience with Halfords regarding a recent MOT booking in Hemel Hempstead.
I had scheduled the MOT for a specific date during my days off and had taken annual leave to ensure I was available to take my car to the garage. The booking was confirmed, and I made arrangements accordingly. My appointment was meant to be on a Monday. On Saturday morning, I received a phone call informing me that my booking had been declined.
This last-minute cancellation has caused significant inconvenience. Not only did I lose the opportunity to do my MOT during my time off, but I also struggled to find a suitable alternative date due to annual leave limitations and MOT's expiry date.
The phone call with Halfords garage Hemel Hempstead was not client focus; no appreciation for my situation and stress caused by the cancellation and the guy from the garage had a very rude and unacepptable approach with no professionalism.

I booked an 8.30am slot. Brought my car in at 8am. I supposed to have an mot and full service
I explained I need to collect the car by 2.30pm as I need it to collect my children from school. I called at 1.20pm to check progress. The service had not begun. There were later appointment slots available when I booked but I didn't choose those. I spent £50 on taxi back and forth and didn't even get a service. The girl on the desk was very helpful but not an experience I will be returning for. With over an hours notice of me collecting and being in a rush to collect my children from school my car was blocked in by 2 other cars. Not ideal.
