went for a birthday meal there and had absolutely amazing service ? food was incredible, great portion sizes, and very attentive waiting staff! was made to feel special because of the occasion, and was even gifted a bottle of wine too! 1000000/10 would recommend, have literally been there 2x this week because it's just that good ?

Been here three times in the last few months since discovering this place. The food is far more authentic than I have found elsewhere. Staff are very welcoming. Would recommend booking a table as there is limited seating and it's a popular place

A very strange ?Thai restaurant? experience. The food was bland, flavourless, unmemorable. A salad arrived without dressing but with a peanut dip to accompany it. The salad itself consisted of dried out pieces of carrot and lettuce, white and red onion, white onion? Very odd. No cucumber, no lime and no chilli. Three staple items in a Thai salad. A chicken salad was also unpalatable, with rubbery and gristly pieces of rather old chicken. We returned that dish and it was taken off our bill accordingly. Maybe the real chef was not in post that day. There is no way of knowing. If this was food cooked by the main chef and they earn 4.4 in review scores the customers must be from another planet. Having eaten Thai food all over the UK and all over the world I know a little bit about what qualifies as authentic and good quality Thai food. This was a 0 out of 10 experience. A huge pity as a lot of people seem to recommend this restaurant but perhaps that is when the true chef is in post a big letdown. Was hoping for a quality meal based on the 4.4 review score.

Inedible. We placed an order for collection and were so disappointed with our food. We ordered a beef massaman and lamb red curry? they both look exactly the same, the curry is so watery, the meat is like chewing a piece of rubber we honestly couldn?t eat it it was hideous, the vegetables in the curry were mushy. We ate a few mouthfuls and actually couldn?t eat any more which is not like us at all.

Visited Hemel for business and stayed locally. First time at dining at Chiangmai Cottage. It won't be my last. The food was fantastic. Really tasty. Great selection. Friendly welcome and service. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
