Receptionist barged into room with his own key in the middle of the night just to ask us our name after we requested a new key.
Lack of professionalism and respect.
If we hadn't have seen him open the door unannounced, would he enter into the room whilst we were sleeping or possibly unclothed?

Room was dirty. Bathroom was filthy. I will never stay in a Travelodge again

A good and a nice place to stay

The hotel itself was really nice and clean rooms were spacious and pleasant with complimentary tea and coffee. It also had a fan in the room which was appreciated in this weather. Beds were clean and comfy with good pillows. Breakfast was ok with your standard English breakfast but there was no vegetarian or meat free alternative, so just beens mushrooms and eggs for vegetarian options, with cereal and pastries also on offer. The downside to this hotel was the that it seems to be in a deprived area with police seeming to be on call every other hour. There is an Aldi directly across from the hotel but was fronted by drug addicts and homeless however they didn't seem to cause any issues. So overall, not in the best area but I would stay here again but only as a layover for the night with the very cheap price playing the biggest part in that.

Hotel is clean and tidy, rooms are sparce but if you ask for more pillows and a duvet makes your stay more comfortablem , breakfast was very good. Value for money is excelent

One to Avoid !! A Deeply Disappointing Stay at Travelodge Hatfield Central
I feel compelled to share my experience at Travelodge Hatfield Central, as it was, without doubt, one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have encountered. Prospective guests deserve full transparency before making a booking.
I chose this hotel based on several overly positive reviews I found online, which, in hindsight, proved to be completely unreliable and misleading. My experience was nowhere near what those comments had suggested.
From the moment you enter the building, you are greeted by an unpleasant, musty odour that permeates both the reception area and the rooms. Cleanliness is clearly not a priority?the carpets are stained, and the overall state of the room feels poorly maintained and uninviting.
The noise levels are unacceptable. The walls and floors are so thin that they allow sound to travel easily from adjacent rooms and hallways. In addition, the surrounding neighbourhood is extremely noisy, even at night, with disturbances continuing into the early hours.
The rooms are also stiflingly hot in warm weather, with no air conditioning provided. A small desk fan is supplied instead, which is entirely ineffective. The window is tiny and barely opens, presumably due to safety regulations, further compounding the lack of ventilation and adding to a feeling of claustrophobia.
Parking is outside and unsecured, adding to the general sense of discomfort.
To make matters worse, the £9 breakfast is shockingly poor. The selection is minimal, and the quality of the food is far below what one should expect?bland scrambled eggs, tasteless pastries, and weak coffee. Frankly, it?s not worth even half the price.
In summary, this hotel fails on every basic front?cleanliness, comfort, value, and peace of mind. If you?re considering staying here based on positive online reviews, take them with extreme caution. They do not reflect the reality of what this hotel offers.
I would strongly advise looking elsewhere!!

I stayed here for work, the location was great not far from Hatfield train station and right next to the massive shopping centre and a few bars nearby and a few restaurants.
Let's get onto the review of the hotel.
I was greeted in reception very nicely and got my key for the room, my bedroom was super clean and smart. I find with Travelodge pillows they're very uncomfortable on the bed and solid, but that is down to personal preference.
What effectived me the most, there was no air conditioning, with the weather being extremely hot. and I had to use a really noisy fan of which was provided which is good but doesn't help cool
The food had very small portions and for me it was a surprise how fast the food came out after ordering it.
I'm sure in the winter it might be better for temperature wise but for a quick overnight stay it's OK.
I wouldn't go back myself.

Pleasant rooms, it's a Travelodge so don't expect loads of frills but all there what you need. Although have to get hairdryer from reception. Nice bar area. Pleasant staff. Looked a bit dodgy around as has takeaways and bars and restaurants but did not encounter any problems. Free parking too.

Excellent service and a great location, with plenty of parking. I stayed in a family room and the bed was comfortable and the room tidy. The staff were very excellent and the onsite bar/restaurant was very welcome, and served a great breakfast in the morning.
However: Travelodges appear to be suffering the same fate as their competitor, Premier Inn: plenty of money to build, but no budget for repairs or maintenance.
My particular gripe in room 222 was an unwelcome and unpleasant smell. My nose quickly adapted, though to-ing and fro-ing from the room, including the bathroom, forced my olfactory senses to readjust every time. Somewhat an assault on the senses, so to speak.
I can only guess by the mopped up splodges on the carpet in the room, and the remnants of a regurgitation in a stairwell, that a previous guest had returned from the Whetherspoons on the opposite side of the car park a little worse for wear. Incidents like this require a significant amount of manpower to make right, which doesn't appear to have been successful.
