I recently moved to Kimpton and nearby Harpenden and was walking through the main road and I saw some chairs and a cafe just up from the main shops. I was so happy I called in! This was the perfect place to have a delicious breakfast. I had poached eggs and coffee and it was absolutely wonderful.
They serve delicious snacks and breakfasts and the coffee is just ? ? Cosy and relaxing, you won't be disappointed. Lovely chap who served me was so friendly and welcoming. I shall be coming back! ??

Always nice to find a little independent cafe in a Town.
Service at this little cafe was personal and the owner clearly made the effort to deliver both quality food and coffee.
Appeared popular with locals which is a good indication. Tucked off the main street.
We need to support these small businesses who are the real lifeblood of our Towns.

Just had a wonderful brunch at Thompsons Café and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The owner was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and kind. We had a buggy with us, and I really appreciated the help getting in and out?something that might seem small, but makes a huge difference when you're out with children.
For anyone with food allergies, the team here is exceptionally diligent and understanding, which made me feel completely at ease when ordering.
Highly recommend this charming little café?I'll definitely be coming back. Thank you, Thompsons Café!

It probably deserves 5 stars, but would have to be exceptional for that. But it's a lovely friendly simple place with good food and service, and books to read. Prices very reasonable.

Best cafe to go to. Food is brilliant and service is too. I go to many cafes around the country and there's not one that beats this place ?
Parking: Harpenden is great for parking as it's free. It really helps the local businesses. That's what brings me to this cafe as well as it being the best cafe around for miles
