Billed as a good nights sleep guaranteed was a load of rubbish. Room right opposite a nightclub bass pounding til gone 2am then staff tipping empties into recycling dumpsters under room windows just as dropping off to sleep around 2.30am. Didn't get to sleep til 3am. Would not recommend this PI location. Also as it was a Saturday it cost us £175 for the pleasure of limited rubbish sleep.

The room was exactly what you would expect from a Premier Inn. The main problem was the air conditioning unit, which was extremely loud. It could be turned off, but turned itself back on regularly to the default setting - once at 3 in the morning, so impossible to get a good night's sleep. Also, the hotel advertises a good vegetarian cooked breakfast, and neither veggie sausages nor bacon was available - the only concession was a litre of soya milk.

This Premier Inn is one of their newer ones and as such presents itself very well. However, it is the staff team that is the stand-out feature based on my overnight stay. Every person I met was friendly and helpful and gave me the feeling that I was welcome and in good hands. All credit to the front of house team in particular who seemed to turn their hand to a number of tasks as the need arose. I was also impressed with the breakfast arrangements; there was a very good range of food and drinks, tasty and well presented. On my experience this Premier Inn easily earns its 5 stars.

My very first trip to this premier inn but I have stayed at many. I was very cautious due to the reviews online but I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The breakfast was delicious in the morning, bubbly staff especially the blonde gentleman with glasses. Check-in was really simple and easy, room was perfect just what I needed. I stayed in a premier plus rooms, the fridge was a great addition. Would definitely stay again, well done St Albans City Centre

Lounge, bar & breakfast Furnature all need replacing. Worn out chairs with foam showing and other peoples body skins marks on the arms of lounge chairs - shabby. Breakfast poor quality. Hotel needs a complete referral and clean the big glass windows!

When I see the TV advert for Premier Inn and compare it to my experience I feel that I must have been looking at another hotel group. Over £170 is not a budget hotel and the bed was not so comfortable very hard even for someone who also has a hard mattress. Breakfast was cold lacking in ingredients as we had to wait for items to be topped up. Fried eggs took ten minutes to arrive, everything was cold. My previous experiences of Premier Inn have been positive hence my decisions to stay in one in St Albans. Not again though!

Management don?t want to put drinks that you pay for in plus rooms. This is the third time they ?claim? they are waiting on a delivery that ?won?t arrive today ?despite other premier inns having no such issues. After a long discussion two bottle was offered ?depending on if we have any behind bar as most people in plus rooms don?t want water ?

We stayed at the Premier Inn on a Saturday night. Our room was directly opposite the entrance to a nightclub and we were kept awake by the music and then when the club closed by people on the street chatting and shouting. The hotel reception apologiesed and said that this is a known problem and directed us to their "good night sleep" guarantee. However, on following up, external noise is excluded from this and so we got no refund. Do not stay at this hotel on a Friday or Saturday night.

This hotel was very comfortable which really satisfied our needs for a place to stay. The people working there were very useful and welcoming even in times where employees usually show attitude showing they'd rather be at home. All in all, the food from breakfast and dinner was rather very astonishing aswell,

Our room faced a night club, that is open Friday and Saturday nights. The noise and vibration from this kept us awake both nights with no sleep possible till 4:30am. Though we reported this both nights and mornings, the staff politely apologised and directed us to contact head office. Head offices reply was this was out side of there control and can do nothing about it. Surly if they offer a good night sleep, when opening a hotel opposite a night club premier inn should install adequate sound prodding.

I have stayed at many premier inns and found them to be very good, St Albans on the other hand is one I would not revisit, a bitter woman on front desk who was not helpful at all, the room not ready, some maintenance dude was in our room when we got in there. Bed, pillows were not comfortable . One saving grace was the breakfast was nice. But enough to raise it above 2 points I have given. This is on my avoid list. I hope you have a better experience

When available the reception staff were very helpful. Room was large, spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and well designed. Shame there?s no discount code for nearby car parking. Only had one bath towel and one hand towel in bathroom on arrival. Seems other guests encountered this issue too. Great central location with nearby public transport.

This hotel is an ideal location for St. Albans. We had a day out in London (station less than 10m walk away) and a day in St Albans. We have stayed in quite a few premier inns now and this hotel was just ?ok.? They are capable of so much better. Service, comfort, breakfast, etc were all what you might expect at this price point. Most disappointing of all was the lack of cleanliness in the room, which should be better than this for a hotel chain. Food, hair and toothpaste marks in the bathroom. Food in the floor in the room. Luckily, we only really slept in the hotel and didn?t spend much time around it other than that, but qe didn?t want to look too much more closely for fear of what else we might find. Please do better Premier inn.

It was a fab hotel and the staff were superb BUT there is a club and we were in the side of the club and it was noisy until 2am ! The bed was comfy and it was very clean hotel! It was central to everything we needed

Beware! This Premier Inn is located adjacent to a nightclub which plays VERY loud music until 3.am on cerain nights of the week. I stayed there in May with my wife and, unfortunately for us, we were allocated a room on the first floor directly looking out onto the nightclub. The music started around 11.00pm and went on until about 2.30am/3.00am making it impossible to sleep. I went down to reception at about 2.30am but they were unable to help in any way. So we went almost without sleep that night. On returning home I contacted customer services to ask for a refund of that nights fee. They refused, arguing that the small print in their contract excludes liability for external noise! They offered a rather pathetic apology. Needless to say we will not be staying at Premier Inn St Albans City Centre ever again!
