I have no idea how the world works these days but paying for delivery seems to be a 'thing' now we have the likes of Deliveroo & Uber eats.
I would like to try & get my thick head around it but I just can't, I mean I get there is now a delivery charge, I get it costs more to deliver than if I were to collect from the premises so surely the £2.99 delivery charge is to cover delivery right?
Well no actually, a large pizza delivered cost me £14.99 but would of cost just £8.99 if I had collected it, so it cost me an extra £6 to have it delivered & to add to the already 28 minute wait (after it came out of the oven, not since ordered) to have it delivered half a mile down the road, stone cold as you may have guessed, I get a message to say it had arrived, then a few seconds later another message to say that my delivery maybe cancelled if I don't get it soon? The guy hadn't even opened his car door, what the hell was I supposed to do, wait at the window & run down the drive to meet him?
If I wasn't so lazy I would give in.

Waited an hour and a half and we are 10 minutes away. Called and told it?s the delivery drivers fault and to contact them well papa johns that is not acceptable as my contract was with you and you only do I will take this further shoddy service

Don?t order delivery. Outsources to uber and don?t seem to control (or care) about how long that takes or quality. Over 40mins late.
I was told ?that?s not our problem?. An apology would have been nice.

Ordered over an hour ago, didn't receive an order confirmation until 30 mins after I ordered. Waited a further 40 mins for delivery. Noone picks up the phone. Won't be ordering again.

I am working in Specsavers which is almost next door to papa Jones in Harpenden
I must admit that the staff are very friendly and taking good care of my lunch break, even though i am not sure which size i will end up in By end of this year!!! Lol ? but i can highly recommend lunch time offers and lets all support local businesses! Thanks papa Jones team

Stopped in for a lunchtime pizza today, ordered a ham and pineapple. Barely any pineapple and about 3 bits of ham.This place has really gone downhill the last few years since the new indian owners took over.Also, when I just googled this place to leave this review, I had to laugh at the blatantly fake positive reviews to counteract all the negative ones, all suspiciously left by people with Asian names.. it's pretty obvious it's either the workers or the owners friends and family leaving the reviews.

Not hot & not on time.I ordered at 4 pm on a Monday, hardly the pizza rush hour but it still took over 45 minutes to arrive and was tepid at best on delivery. The assumably agency driver had marked the delivery as delivered a good while before they showed up, I assume as it would probably incur a penalty from the store if not delivered on time.I used to order at least once a week & looked forward to the red mini arriving with my piping hot food but now it's just an expensive indulgence which doesn't live up to expectations & to be charged an extra £2 for delivery is just extracting the urine, I fear the only time I will use them again in the future will be when they have a stupid deal on for collection.

Really nice pizzas, much better than Dominos or Pizza Hut. I started going there because I was driving past and thought I'd try their pizzas. They had a special £7.99 for a medium pizza you pick up, which I thought was quite reasonable, so I went twice and had the chicken fajitas pizza, which is really nice. On the third occasion, which was within a week, I went back, and the sign had been removed, and a handwritten piece of paper stuck close to the till stating the medium had gone up to £9.99. I bought a pizza, but at this price, I won't be able to have their pizzas very often. Great pizzas, though!

Have used this store since it opened a good few years ago, but in the last year or so the quality has REALLY gone downhill, whilst the prices seem to be ever increasing.Ordered a pizza the other night, there was barely any toppings (its not like pineapple is expensive, especially when paying £17 for a large pizza) and it was luke warm on arrival.Adding to the fact that they now also charge a delivery fee on top of the extortionate prices, you just feel totally cheated.Wont be using them again, theyre no better than supermarket pizzas that cost 4 or 5 quid.*EDIT* I suspect the recent positive reviews are connected to the new owners. I also suspect they run the franchise at the Hemel branch too, as they have also left positive reviews for them as well! --- Hmmm, bit suspicious!
