Lovely little pub in Harpenden. So we ordered ales & the vintage cheddar & bacon burger ? with fries. Have to say it was a really good burger.
The staff were really great, especially Dillon his professionalism was a joy to experience, interms that he was so tentative and caring. For the service industry, he excelled, and you don't see that kind of customer service much. Thank you very much, Dillon.

For a Sunday early evening was almost empty, food and drink expensive, bar unmanned, staff lack any warmth.

Soup had good flavour but was lukewarm.

We booked a table on a Saturday for 17.15 , by 18.00 all the tables in the pub had gone so best book ahead.

You can always tell the calibre of a pub by how the level of service is when there is and isn't a problem. And how any problems are resolved without fuss and a genuine care. Great service and friendly staff will be looking for an excuse to go back!
