After our recent visit with family. The new publicans made us feel most welcomed. Great Atmosphere, plenty of outside seating in front and rear of pub. No food on this visit, looking forward to returning soon.

The Fox is now under new management... and what a breath of fresh air!
After several landlords / ladies who treated their customers with disdain, the new management couldn't be more friendly.
We were welcomed with smiles and enthusiasm. It doesn't take much! We've been twice now, and it was the same both times. It make such a difference.
Haven't had any food there yet, but I was pleased to see that there's a heavy emphasis on the pub being a pub and people being allowed to go there for a drink, rather than it being a restaurant and drinkers being frowned upon.
I, for one, am going to make every effort to help the new management to make it a success - please do the same, so we can see The Fox flourish!

Tried calling several times to book a table for dinner. No answer, leave a message on their answerphone and still no call back. No website to book a table so not sure other than turning up to be asked ?did you make a reservation? ?

We are from the US and were visiting family in November and lucky for us, we had insider info that The Fox Aspenden is the place to be! What a lovely, warm, and historic gem this place is! The owners were warm and welcoming and the service was terrific! Our food and drinks were tasty, and we absolutely loved all of the special touches like the warm fire, lovely Christmas decorations, and friendly locals. We will absolutely be back!

We visited on a Sunday for the roast dinner and it was one of the best roast dinners I have ever eaten in a pub. The sirloin roast was delicious with a lovely gravy.
Also fish Fridays are top of the list for a visit! Seafood Thermidor is incredible.
In fairness any day eating here you won?t be disappointed all the food is great.

My husband and I had a delicious lunch at The Fox Aspenden today. My husband said the fish and chips were the best he?s ever had! I loved the duck eggs and local produce and we always take time to come here as both a couple and with family. The summer events have been great, and we will continue to support this local business where their amazing team work so hard to create a welcoming and amazing ambiance suitable for the occasion! - Lovers of the live music events too! Vegetarian options: My daughter is vegetarian and never has an issue finding a meal to enjoy!
Kid-friendliness: Summer events such as kids eat for a £1 have been amazing value for our family!

Went for lunch with friends, had really tasty lasagne and chocolate brownie with vegan ice cream. Staff very polite and welcoming, would definitely recommend.

The liver and bacon was delicious, unfortunately it was not served with any vegetables. With vegetables would have made it the perfect meal.

We had a fantastic meal on Sunday for my son's 18th birthday. The service was outstanding, the food was outstanding. All the starters, main meals and dessert all came out when they should of done, we weren't rushed into eating when we arrived at the pub either.
This was for a party of 20 and I can honestly say I will definitely be returning for another meal there as soon as possible.

Went to The Fox for lunch today with my Mum and daughter and we were all very impressed. The food was delicious, the portions were generous and the lady that served us was really friendly and efficient. It was all very reasonably priced, especially considering both the obvious quality of the ingredients and the portion size. They are even doing £1 children's meals during the week in the summer holidays and just like the adults meals the quality and portion was great. Will definitely be going back soon.
