I had a very disappointing experience at Specsavers earlier this week. I went in on Monday for a contact lens consultation and brought the last two pairs I had left. The optician asked me to wear one pair during the check-up, which I did for about 15 minutes. After the consultation, she told me to take them off and discard them ? meaning I lost a perfectly good pair of daily lenses for no reason.
I was then told I needed eye drops due to dryness and was charged £30 for the consultation and £14.95 for the drops. However, when I went to pay, I was asked to tap my card twice and was later shocked to see I had been charged £89.90 in total.
To make matters worse, I gave the optician the box of my usual lenses, and she looked them up in the system, telling me they were out of stock and that I should try to buy them elsewhere. Later at home, I searched for them online, and the first result was Specsavers selling the exact same lenses! When I called back on Wednesday to clarify the double charge and the availability of the lenses, I was told they were discontinued ? which is not true, as they?re clearly still being sold on the Specsavers website.
This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I feel like I was misinformed and overcharged. I expected much better service and transparency from Specsavers.

All the staff were so welcoming and friendly. My eye test was calm, and then when wanting to change my glasses, the team were able to help pick the right fit as I wanted a second opinion. Picking up my glasses was seamless and I?ll be back when my next test is due!

A really lovely experience with every member of staff that I interacted with in store and over the phone when I called to ask some follow up questions. I was very nervous at first to buy my first pair of glasses but everyone worked hard to put me at ease and make sure I left feeling happy and confident. Thank you :)

Extremely poor and very disappointing.
Pleasant eye test with the lady that served me initially. Explained it was my first time having a test and was looking to get the info needed to purchase glasses.
I?d already seen the selection in the store whilst waiting for my appointment and decided there wasn?t any I particularly liked and so just wanted the prescription details and left.
Wasn't until I got home and tried to order some glasses, that they?d left the PD number (the distance between your pupils) off of the prescription card.
Called the next day and was told that they can give it to me if I come in and pay another £10 on top of the £30 i?d already paid for an eye test the day before. I explained that it would?ve been nice if they had communicated this with me before so I could make the decision to proceed or not knowing they would withhold this info. Was told i shouldve asked about the PD before the test they only take the measurement if you are going to buy glasses from them which seems pretty misleading when you are going for an eye test for that specific reason. Being my first eye test I had no idea what a PD number was so I thought all I needed was my prescription numbers. Worst part about it all is instead of attempting to try to resolve the situation the lady who answered just hung up the phone mind conversation and when i called back 10mins later she said it was an accident and ?lost? my account which is why she didn't try to call back.
Will probably have to pay to get my PD number elsewhere unless i do it myself at home but definitely wont be giving it to Specsavers and will make sure to change my follow up appointment to somewhere else too.

Poor service.
I spent £150 on sunglasses that don?t even fit?too loose, too big?and I was told I have to keep coming in just to get them tightened. Then I paid another £150 to change the lenses on my own glasses, and when I got them back, the nose pad was already loose and now it?s broken. Their solution? ?Buy another pair.? I?m really disappointed with the service.

Got an eye test here, the optician was extremely helpful and gave a lot of awesome information about cool studies being done in the field that explained my changing prescription, very neat

Excellent advice and service from an advisor who tells me his name is Idris. He has just sold me two pairs of glasses. He knows the store stock inside out and used his expertise and experience to help me choose the right frames and lenses
