Probably the worst garage I have ever come across in 35yrs.Booked my car in for a free suspension check on the 26/07/25 was told the rear arm needed replacement.I was quoted £232 by Wendy and the gentleman on the front desk.Booked the car in on their system for the 02/08/25 along with an Mot.I arrived at 8am on the 02/08/25 same gentleman,different girl.I told them I had booked work on the suspension along with an Mot.She replied after looking at her screen it?s not £232.00 it?s £563.00you were quoted wrong.Come back later in the week as we have to order the part?a total wasted journey,not even a phone call or email over a whole week? She was rude and abrupt,and the gentleman never once looked up even though he completed the original booking.I would not take a bicycle to this lot.To make matters worse,I took the car to a local garage and they could not find anything wrong with the suspension apart from some grease for dry joints.Car now running noise free.Stay well clear.

Well now I have read all the other bad reviews my experience makes much more sense.
My timing chain has gone on my car and I have been told by three different garages this will be because Halfords have put the wrong oil in my car during a service. This will cost me up to 1.5k to fix.
I rang them after a quick Google shows yes indeed the oil used in my car is incorrect, to have such a rude woman answer the phone. Not letting me finish my sentance, speaking loudly over me, thinking I was on hold whilst speaking to her colleagues about me, and literally shouting over me. I asked her for her name and she hung up the phone. Awful attitude. I have since emailed in a full complaint quoting her name and in regards to the oil, I will go to the ombudsman if I have to. Let's see what they do to rectify this.

Wanted to book my mot.
Always book there...but she put me off.
She should not be employed there if she doesn't even know anything re premier members and no professional manners.

Absolutely AMAZING service from Halfords Borehamwood service centre. If you receive the outstanding level of customer care that I did and the absolute professionalism that I was shown you?ll be as equally delighted as I was. Wendy is your go to customer service person who really should be the face of Halfords in my humble opinion. Not withstanding all other members of team Halfords that I had the opportunity of meeting.. each and every one of them is a true credit to the company and the industry.

I took my car there last week for MOT, it was the worst experience I've ever had, I don't recommend it to anyone! They debited an amount from my card, the service wasn't done, they're taking forever to refund it, the receptionist is terrible, she's impatient, she doesn't give clear information, she doesn't know anything, you pay for the service and you have to call to get news. Terrible!

I recently had my car serviced here and was extremely impressed with the experience. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. They went above and beyond by providing some missing spare parts for my car?completely free of charge. Excellent service and genuine care for their customers. I highly recommend them!

I made a booking 2 weeks in advance for 28th May at 4:30PM and I received a call on 28th at 15:18 to ask if I can come early and when I mentioned my appointment is at 4:30 and I won't be able to come before 4PM, they lied saying their technician doesn't do any MOT after 4PM, and mentioned the website is wrong to allow bookings for 4:30, while the bookings are available on majority of the days and if this was the case they would have already highlighted to their backend team to sort this out. I told them I'll file complaint and finally they let me checkin at 4PM for the MOT, but they failed it citing there is a cut on the tyre and I found it suspicious. I asked the receptionist to ask technician to show me the cut but I was told he has left for the day. On checking myself I found a very minor cut that definitely wouldn't fail the MOT, but still they did and quoted £229 for the Bridgestone tyre. Under the suspicion I decided to take my car to another workshop and the engineer inspected it carefully and said it was definitely a very minor cut and Halfords must not have failed MOT and he happily passed it. He also pointed out that Halfords have mentioned in the MOT about light scratches on the paintwork, which is also malicious as it is not part of the MOT as long as it doesn't impact the structural safety of the vehicle.
It was a vindictive and wrongful failure of the MOT by the technician given I didn't give to their wish of arriving earlier than the appointment time.

Fantastic and honest service for MOT. Have been looking for this for long time and found it at Halfords Borehamwood. Lovely staff, super helpful and very efficient. Will recommend and take all my cars there from now on

I visited Borehamwood Halfords on B/H Monday as I urgently requirement a new tyre to be fitted. I was dealt with immediately by friendly, helpful and efficient members of staff. The tyre was fitted within 40 minutes of my arrival at the centre and the price was very competitive, I shall most definitely use this centre again and can happily recommend it to others.

I?m very disappointed with the customer service. There has been no communication following the completion of the work, and I?m left unsure whether the car was even properly serviced. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before using their services.
