I regret to say that my recent visit to David Paul Opticians was nothing short of a harrowing ordeal. From the moment I stepped foot into their establishment, I was met with incompetence, indifference, and archaic policies that belong in the dark ages.Let's start with the staff. Incompetence seems to be their trademark. It was as if they had received absolutely no training in customer service or basic human decency. They were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. It was abundantly clear that they had no interest in assisting customers or addressing their concerns. It was as if they viewed patrons as an inconvenience rather than the lifeblood of their small business.But it doesn't end there. The policies at David Paul Opticians are laughably outdated and draconian. One such policy that particularly incensed me was their prohibition on photography. Yes, you read that correctly. They actually have the audacity to forbid customers from taking photographs within their store. How they expect customers to make informed decisions without being able to compare options or seek second opinions is beyond me.Furthermore, their refusal to adapt to modern practices speaks volumes about their arrogance and lack of concern for customer satisfaction. It's as if they're living in a bubble, completely oblivious to the fact that the world has moved on without them.In conclusion, I urge anyone reading this to steer clear of David Paul Opticians. Their abysmal staff and archaic policies make for a truly nightmarish experience. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere. There are plenty of other opticians who actually value their customers and embrace modernity. I greatly look forward to the snarky response the owner will reply to this with also. David Paul Opticians is a relic of a bygone era, and it's high time they were consigned to the dustbin of history.

Highly recommend! The shop was clean and comfortable. Emma took her time with me, patiently answering all of my questions, and made the experience pleasant. She even got me water mid appointment when I mentioned my throat was dry! Orli was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive when it came to choosing a frame, and I'm very pleased with the one I got. Excellent experience, highly recommend going here!

Highly recommend. Emma, the optometrist is excellent and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely selection of frames to choose from, you're sure to find what you're looking for.

Fresh and clean environment, where I was able to try different types of glasses of the best brands at excellent prices. The staff was very friendly and professional, and they helped and advised me in the best possible way in choosing an eyeglass frame suitable for my face. Highly recommended!

Emma was really friendly and helpful. She examined my 7 year old's eyes thoroughly and with good humour. He was happy and I was happy! I'd definitely recommend David Paul Opticians for professional and friendly advice from staff who clearly are experienced and very willing to help.

Absolutely appalling! Do NOT go here. This is the most disgusting customer service I have ever experienced.As I walked in, the receptionist immediately looked down her nose at me and barely said hello. I entered the shop with a prescription and was hoping to buy some designer glasses. The lady was not welcoming at all and looked at me in disgust as I picked up a pair of glasses to try. I would guess this is as I am in my mid-20's and she made an assumption that I cannot afford to buy myself some expensive glasses, so wrote me off before even trying to help. She then told me I couldn't touch any of the glasses unless I was trying them on and that they needed to be sanitised before putting them back. She then continued to follow me around the shop sanitising the glasses I picked up. This was very strange and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. If this was a Covid concern, despite being October 2022, why did she not wait until I had left to clean them, or asked me to sanitise on arrival?She is totally incompetent at her job, I showed her the glasses I currently have and said I wanted something similar, she then gave me two pairs to try on that could not be further from my current glasses. Almost like she completely ignored what I was looking for, and simply gave me some glasses similar to the large framed ones she was wearing.Ignoring her rudeness, I found a Longchamp pair I liked. She looked down her nose at me when I started to look at the more expensive glasses, as if I could not afford them. The price of the glasses were £250, which I am more than willing to pay. I said I liked them and said I was going to take a picture and send to my partner to see if he likes them before buying. She then said "you cannot take a photo", I then asked why and explained I would like to see if my family like them before buying. Which her response was "it is company policy that no photos are allowed, tell them to come into store"I am appalled by her rudeness, I went straight next door and purchased the same glasses from Boots, who were fantastic! Now reading the reviews for David Paul Opticians, I see that this receptionist has treated almost every customer with this same snobby and rude attitude for the past 4 years! If this shop would like to keep customers, she needs to be dismissed immediately.I like to support small businesses, but there is no way I would ever step foot in nor recommend this shop again. Awful.

I think David Paul Opticians are just wonderful. Emma had such a calming effect on me and nothing was too much trouble for her. The very efficient and kind receptionist, Orla, is just marvellous and again very kind and helpful. I shall be back - never fear. Thank you.

Stay away from this shop if you don't want your day to be ruined! Worst service ever experienced!Woman in her 40s or 50s was rude, short-tempered and with no skills on customer service. It felt that I insulted her just because I came in the shop. She kept telling me off not to touch the frames, even though I was not touching and only looking. There are so many good people who are looking for work - why keep employing such rude and incompetent staff...Boots, Vision Express and Eye Care are SO much better and more pleasant to deal with.

Without doubt the best optician in the town. Outstanding professional service at reception by Orli and great choice of high quality frames. The eye test appointment with Emma was very thorough and she clearly discussed all relevant points with me. I would highly recommend and add that 5 stars isn't really enough for David Paul Opticians.

FANTASTIC SERVICE! I recently moved abroad &, owing to lock-down, I ran out of contact lenses. I emailed the store directly & David responded immediately. They had my prescription on file and shipped me 6 months supply within 4 days. I was so impressed that I have re-ordered lenses through them this month.

Took my father to this opticians for that first time and he was thrilled with the service and glasses he brought. David was very professional and considerate which helped with my dads Tourette?s, he took his time and I couldn?t of asked for more. This will be fathers new Opticians from now on.
