im not sure how to start this because i hate writing reviews because it makes me feel like a karen but im kinda tired of costa. the previous couple times of me going to costa ive seen them make the coffee wrong. i dont mean giving me the wrong drink, theyve put the foam or hot milk for my latte in before the espresso, and always putting the vanilla syrup first rather than mixing it with the espresso first. when i first noticed it, i didnt think it was a big deal because its coffee and hot milk, it all goes in the same cup right ?? most people would think it wouldnt impact the taste, but no it actually tastes awful. im sure the staff know how to make coffee because they work at a coffee shop, they must have had training, so im thinking theyre just doing this to be quicker, because the milk is done before the espresso (in my case, i get an extra shot). i assure you most people are there for good coffee and wouldnt mind waiting an extra few seconds for the espresso to be done. i am sorry for the rant, but im tired of paying £5.10 for coffee that doesnt even taste good.

Emptying the coffee filter by banging it on the top of the bin before making my coffee with it.. no cleaning prior to touching the bin.. absolutely disgusting ?

Nice branch of Costa to come and do some work, read a paper or catch up with friends. A big shoutout to the staff who are lovely, except unfortunately for the old woman with the white hair and tattoo on one of her upper arms. It appears that if you're not a visiting member of her friendship group, then don't expect too much in the way of cordiality.

Good coffee as per.. but really sticky table. Staff were lovely and even tried to wipe it down, but I think the stickiness was indestructible.

Just been served the most disgusting oak flat white, tasted more of detergent than coffee. Returned the coffee to the server to which I got a blank reply and no apology or offering of a replacement. In such a competitive high street you?d think the coffee and staff training would be better. Won?t be returning to Costa again.

Went in for coffee, at 3.45 no staff on duty, server was sullen, coffee was awful, other person hovering and most seats blocked off. Customers came in after us being told we close at 5 Staff didn?t want to be there. Not good advert fir Costs

Terrible! We decided to pop in with our dog for coffee and snacks after my husband had a nasty fall on the canal towpath and was feeling cold. We were shocked to be told that dogs weren't allowed as we've been in Costa coffee shops previously with our dog. The woman serving my husband got our order wrong three times! Reluctantly, especially as we were seeking warmth and a comfortable seat after my husband's fall, sat outside on uncomfortable seating and rushed our coffee and food because we were cold. We met other dog owners sitting outside who told us that they had been going inside with their dogs for years and now forced to sit outside in the cold will seek out dog friendly cafes to continue their regular cafe visits.
