Great school! There are a few downsides like they don't offer the best help to people without disorders who are just stressed ect. The facilities are great, students should have more freedom of choice in class instead of being forced to read aloud or talk. But overrall a great school :))

Awful school. Like said above, tons of bullying and teachers couldn't careless. It's now getting to the point where you will walk down the corridor and see bullying everywhere; awful learning environment. The teachers are useless too, if you have any kind of problem you will get no support unless you have a known disorder, other wise you're basically on your own. I've had problems since I first came to this prison and my so called 'Head Of Year' has basically told me that she doesn't know what to do. What kind of 'Head Of Year' is that? It's not just the pastoral support wrong with the school, the lessons are ridiculously unorganised. We have at least 2 supply teachers that don't know what they're doing a week, we never have enough recsourses and all the recsources they do have are a mess! Adding onto what I said above about their lack of pastoral support to regular students, the school are CONSTANTLY TESTING US! At least every week I have a test, along with the ridiculous amount of homework they give, which means now I'm waking up at 3 in the morning (after doing my homework in the evening) to do even more homework because I've got too much; that's not okay and the school don't care! I feel like an animal in this school, by the way I'm treated and the way I'm constantly tested. This school will only get better once that snake Mr Shapland and all of the other assistant Headteachers leave and somebody new comes in with new ideas to turn this school around.

The school is just creepy and when I was there I saw a ghost in the corridors probably from when people died in it when it was a hospital and haunted the school

Good school lovely staff (some) good lessons.
The school has been turned around quight a bit there are still some problems with it. Toilets are a mess and I know that can be down to how certain students are treating them but if that is the case then clean them more. They have some good rules in place where as others are redicilois. E.g. if you are caught wearing your coat indoors thatâ??s eather a C3 by teachers that donâ??t know the rules properly or a signature in a standards card and if you get 3 signatures on a standards card guess what C3 a C3 is an after school detention for an hour. If you get caught eating in the corridors C3 if you get caught with your phone out C3 and they take your phone.
If you have the wrong colours socks on ie White multi colours or anything but black C3
If you are wearing any rings on your fingers Or earpicings or necklaces you are probably going to get a C3 by a teacher wearing rings and earrings. You canâ??t dye your hair any synthetic coulours or guess what itâ??s a C4 followed by a C3. A C4 is where you get put in a horrible cold old dusty room for the whole day with loads of work and you are not allowed to see any one for the whole day. I believe at Ashlyns some rules made by the headteacher should also be obeyed by the staff for example some teachers sit on there phones during lessons when they should be teaching. If you get 3 c points in a day itâ??s a C3 if you donâ??t go to a lunch detention itâ??s a C3 some staff at Ashlyns are awesome amazing and lovely if you decide to send your Chiled at Ashlyns please make sure they are absaloutly perfect or they will be getting a lot of C3 make sure their shirt is tucked it make sure there tie is longer than 7 stripes make sure they have there blazer on make sure they have school shoes one. If not they will get a C3 oh btw most of the food is descusting in the canteen. Soggy chips. Oh and if you are 5 mins late to a lesson and you have a mean teacher itâ??s a C3 I could go on and on bout the stupid rules at Ashlyns. Some staff are lovely your son/daughter will know exactly who to avoid and who to say hello to. You might get a C3 if you say hello to a mean teacher in the wrong way.
