Our experience did not live up to the reviews!!Booked a table and were asked to come a bit later - no problem. Arrived at the agreed time. Got drink and a menu but were told that they would come back later to take our order as there was a large table! Not sure about the organisation or the front-of-house input?Very ordinary pub grub menu - again not an issue if done well. Fish & chips were a very small portion of (very) overcooked fish and (really quite) undercooked chips! After fighting my way through the armored pastry casing, I realised I had order a braised steak pie! Mash & veg were okay.Disappointing and will not be coming back.

So tasty! Great to see such a lovely country pub buzzy and busy on a wintery Saturday night in March. We?ll be back and we?ll definitely recommend to guests in our cottage.

Fantastic Sunday lunch at the Boot. Cheese soufflé was delicious, followed by a cracking seafood chowder. Other half had the roast pork, which came with lovely veggie sides. Finished with a panna cotta that was also top notch. Good wine list too - would recommend the verdejo - and service was A1 with friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. And dog friendly! Can't fault it. The perfect country pub. Thanks so much!

We stayed in Orleton for the weekend and came here for a Sunday lunch it was very busy so must be popular which is fab.The Sunday lunch was lovely. However, I really wanted to give this 5* but here?s what let it down.Young waiting staff with absolutely no clue on the food. I asked for the GF roast beef Sunday dinner and asked if the Yorkshire puds were GF (as this was an item on the meal and says GF next to it on the menu) the waitress said I don?t know I?ll find out. Never returned to let me know and not 15 mins later my meal arrived and no one had any idea If it was GF.The sides it comes with were lovely and we weren?t sure on one of them and asked what it was the waiter said?..errr I dunno a potato thing. Well it was nice just would have liked to know what it was.So for me the staff need better training especially in the intolerances as it?s not good enough to say you do GF food serve me a meal and not know if it actually is GF!

A nice, cosy, and historic pub with friendly staff. The non-alcoholic gin cocktail and a Bloody Mary were good. Our starters were tasty, crispy prawns and a delightful cheese soufflé. My venison suet pudding was delicious, with a great sauce. However. My wife's burger wasn't anything special, with a lack of seasoning and slightly dry. The cost was reasonable for what we had.

Really nice pub! Great choice on the menu, and the food we had was great! Good choice of ales on tap, the Ludlow Blonde was particularly good. Well worth a visit if you're in the area... oh! And dog friendly too!
