Old place, they told us that they were going to renovate it, the accommodation cost 80 and they don't have many, clients have a side access.

It was all right, the room was clean and the price was ok, I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there however it did smell good.Unfortunately there were a few problems:Upon arrival the landlady was rather unprofessional in her manner, making inappropriate conversation despite my visible discomfort. The communal shower was clogged and not particularly clean. I had to unclog it myself in orger to not overflow the bathroom. The landlady insisted that it was unclogged regularly, but considering the fact that the removable drain cover was so gummed up it took 5 minutes for me to remove and the level of rot that the hair had undergone I would be surprised if that was the case. When I brought this up to her she rolled her eyes and immediately passed the blame to her cleaners rather than apologising. One of the beds in the room I stayed in was broken, the divan top near my feet was caved in and as a result it did feel like I was slowly sliding down the bed.

We stayed at the Oak last week whilst our daughter played county cricket at the Downs Festival. On arrival we were greeted by Katie, who was polite and gracious and showed us to our room. It was clean and tidy, bath and sit down shower in the on suite, nice bed and TV worked nicely after she found the remote for us. The only complaint i have is Katie didnt cut the top of my boiled eggs for me, although after i pointed this out to her, she agreed she must do better. For the price, it's well worth a visit

This venerable property needs further sensitive and extensive upgrading: it had a time trip feel to it: not for the still extant wattle walls and timber framing but for the 1970s furnishing in our room, the shower that could only be turned on and off from outside the cubicle, the cracked sink or the noisily sprung matress. That said, my wife and I each had a good night's sleep! We did not use the bar or eat at the Royal Oak. We chose it on the basis of price and because we were unable to find beds in Malvern. £80 is not cheap for what we had, but there it is! I'm sure the (?new) owners will bring this hotel back to what it could and should be.

Friendly and cheerful. Don't expect the Ritz and you won't be disappointed. This place just needs someone who is great at DIY to fall in love with it and it would be a little gold mine. The bathrooms all need updating. I would suggest they plough money into one room at a time instead of a tiny bit into all of the rooms. Get a really good, reliable cleaner and they would pay for themselves. Nice breakfast. Can't fault the hospitality.

It's an old hotel with loads of charm, oak beams and small doorways. Hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Look forward to coming back.

Spent two very comfortable nights at The Royal Oak. Kate attended to all our needs and made us feel very welcome! We will definitely stay there again!

FEnjoyable but brief stay in Ledbury. Katie the host, was very attentive and a mine of information. We were on the third floor, so plenty of exercise getting to and from. Breakfast was brilliant.

It is a very old building that is undergoing refurbishment slowly . So it is full of character and therefore an old building does not give you the same as a new building. Breakfasts were very good indeed.

A rather dreary place with a young man wearing a baseball cap serving, I asked for lime or lemon for my gin & tonic, he replied no we don't have any fruit as it goes off, for goodness sake a lemon costs 15p & can be stored in the fridge in a dish of soda water, a terrible joint.

When customers book a room in the hotel online it appears that no one ever bothers to read there emails guests booked in arrive find the place locked up the managers have gone off somewhere else we have witnessed a lot of people coming in to the bar next door thinking that is a part of the hotel to which has no connection asking to be let in .I suggest CV that if you book online call the hotel first to confirm yr booking will save yrself a lot of greif later .as for the breakfast cannot comment on the that ...most probably have to get yr own ..

I was impressed with hotel staff, very friendly and having gluten free food was a bonus for me! 5 star!
