We had a lovely couple of nights at the Harewood recently. We had an evening meal on the one night and two breakfasts and they were all great. What was especially important was that they were able to provide gluten free meals as my wife is a coeliac, and they did this really well, with no compromise on quality.
The room was clean and, considering the age of the builiding, they had what you needed, although a bit of an update to the decor woudln't go amiss. We had an issue with the light in our bathroom and Dan (?) did all he could to try to get it sorted while we were there, he succeeded, but to be honest if was a pretty dim light bulb that we ended up with, you couldn't really see much by it.
If I were to make a suggestion it would be to put some new carpet on the stairs up to the rooms, as the one that's there doesn't give a true reflection on the quality of the rest of the esthablishment, and doesn't leave a good impression.
Overall, however, a lovely stay, try the Harwood Inn rather than the usual Holiday Inns or Travel Lodges.

The perfect retreat for those wandering through Herefordshire?s rolling countryside and ideally placed for visiting the gorgeous river town of Ross-on-Wye.
Sitting just back from the A49 between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford itself, The Harewood End Inn boasts an impressive and secluded beer garden, a stunning menu filled with locally sourced deliciousness, and some very generously proportioned en suite guest rooms, sure to make your stay as comfortable as can be.
Whilst the Inn itself is both warm and inviting, the owners, Nicki and Dan, along with bar manager Lizzie, make for THE most welcoming hosts I?ve ever encountered.
If you?re looking for casual dining or cosy drinks then you?ll find a great range of beers and spirits on offer, including Chase Gin which originated in Hereford.
As mentioned, the menu offers a brilliant range of pub favourites from fish and chips to locally reared steak and even a house burger made with a secret beef mince recipe that is unique to The Hereford End Inn, topped with local bacon, cheddar cheese, a house sauce, and flanked by chunky thrice cooked chips, and a gorgeously creamy slaw - in fact, this was probably the best burger I?ve ever had!
My wife went all in on the 12oz steak which, as you?d expect, was also perfect, paired with a moreish peppercorn sauce and the usual accoutrement you?d expect from any great grill dish.
Breakfast was a hearty full English, although other breakfast options were available (cereals, juices, fruit).
All in all, one of the best hotel experiences I?ve had in the U.K. and definitely deserving of a return visit.
