Lovely meal. Lots of outdoor seating for a lovely day, very dog friendly. Card machines were down but option of bank transfer so didn?t affect our experience. Staff were lovely. Thank you we?ll be back!

Review for the restaurant only - understand there is electric hook up/ camping facilities & maybe also room accommodation but research this yourself ! :-)
We came for lunch after a hike up cats black hill ridge and wow wow ! Such great service food and pricing.
HIGHLY recommend was such a vibe for a pub vibe restaurant. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating and selection of draughts on tap.
Our waitress was so lovely and apparently her first day! Service was quick food was fresh hot and great portions. We enjoyed the beef lasagne and burger with salad garnish and chips. Food and drinks great value for money.
Toilets clean.
A man who presume was maybe an owner/ manager greeted us and noticed some flies due to the lovely sunshine and gave us a zapper ! Super attentive but not intrusive. Made us feel so welcome, so friendly with minimal effort.
Seemed to have fire pizza ovens outside not sure if they also have events.
Prior to visiting I did try to find a menu online but struggled, this would have been helpful as they should shout about what amazing things they have on offer :-)
We arrived on a sunny summer Saturday afternoon, no reservation and no issues.
Access is narrow lanes but ample parking and no mix up for us personally with the Google map directions.

Visited on a Saturday for a pub lunch with my wife and 2 daughters, while camping at nearby Longtown. The pub has only recently reopened after changing hands.
We were hugely impressed - beautiful pub in a great location, really tasty food, great service and really welcoming. Everything you would want a good country pub to be! Hats off to the new owners

Great to have the pub open again. The renovations done by the new landords are stunning. Really enjoyed opening night and a lovely Sunday roast a few days later. So pleased to have this great pub down the road

Gave it the benefit of doubt based on the very mixed reviews. You should give this place a miss. It could be superb, but it isn't.

My partner and I booked to go camping at this lovely little pub in February. Needless to say, the weather was awful but thankfully the hospitality of the landlady was warm and welcoming. Having seen us struggling in the rain, trying to cook dinner, she offered for us to stay in a yurt for free. This was available for 2 nights and she very kindly offered for us to stay there for both nights. The yurt was lovely, with gorgeous decorations and a heated blanket!
The atmosphere in the pub was fantastic and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend this pub and will be back (maybe in summer next time!).

Had one night here in our campervan. What a find. What a peaceful place with amazing hosts. Louise and H made us feel so welcome. Loved it that much we have booked a yurt for september for 2 nights. Will get to check the food out then. Perfect.

Brilliant, exactly what hospitality should be. We went there after a tasting session at the nearby distillery. It is in the middle of nowhere, very narrow lanes BUT it is so worth finding. My sister-in-law had arranged the day but due to a mix up they were not expecting us for lunch, However the co-owner/chef was not phased at all he just asked for time to to get the oven up to speed. The menu is very well curated and has some very nice dishes. We passed the time waiting chatting to staff and making a fuss of the most gorgeous dog. While we were there it was quite quiet but we were joined by two locals who joined in with our conversation. We also discovered that the people who own the pub had a connection to a part of the country we all know well.
The food was very good and well presented. I always leave room for dessert which again was lovely.
We will certainly return.

Didn't book but was given the restaurant table in the photo, estimate 8 covers that evening. The service was slow, my starter was served after an hour of entering the restaurant. The landlady straight out of Eastenders but with dogs.???? For the French cook, he produced an excellent Duck Confit and my neighbouring table said their Coq de Vin was delicious, it was their 2nd visit as they were camping in the car park.No dessert offered but 4 were on the menu. Maybe it was because the pub filled up with Young Farmers and the place became loud and lively.
