Thank you so much h to the staff here today. I was struggling to find an item and they located it straight away. Then they must have noticed me looking at another item with glasses on and asked if I wanted any help, that doesn?t happen often nowadays. I said yes and the polite lady informed me of all the attributes of the cat medication i required. On top of that the guy at the till was super chill and happy, yep I would go there again for sure. ?

Visited here on Tuesday with my fur baby getting supplies for holiday.
Staff were very polite and helpful.
Was looking and hoping for some pooch and mutt wet food as normally order online direct.
They never had any adult / senior in only puppy sadly.
So I ended up placing order online.
I did however pick up some duck fillets and chicken fillets and poo bags ready for holiday.
The Store itself was nice and clean.
It has a reasonable good size carpark.
Good size isles for wheelchair users.
Had some good offers on, but sadly my old boy doesn?t like most of it.
Just to make you aware that there is a time limit on the car parking so please read the signs .

Vet Elliott and his team are wonderful, with compassion for all animals, even wild visitors (including a wayward puffin)!. They looked after my elderly Jack Russell, ' Rocky' ,who died at (nearly) 18 years old, a couple of years ago...
Best place for animal health.

I had a pretty upsetting experience at pets at home yesterday, and again today.
I currently have postpartum depression and to help cheer me up my partner built me a pond so I would go outside more. I hadn't left the house other than for hospital/ drs appointments since my baby was born 12 weeks ago.
My first venture out of the house i took my son in his pram to pets at home to have a look at the animals and buy two small goldfish for my fish tank, and hopefully move them to my pond after a while.
The first lady said she didn't think my tank was big enough, and she would go and check with her colleague. I was left waiting for about 10 mins and then came back saying my tank was too small, that goldfish cant live in bowls and that they were made for ponds. This was totally fine, I understand they have policies in place to make sure all of their animals are properly taken care of, but it was the way the lady said it that left me in tears as I left the store. I also had a large tank that I showed her pictures of, not a little bowl, I wouldn't dream of putting a fish in something so small.
The next day my partner encouraged me to try again, and show them pictures of my pond instead of the tank as the first lady said a pond was more suitable. I went in a second time and a different lady came to help me, and asked me the size of the pond and started typing in my details. I can only assume something popped up on her screen as her whole demeanour changed and she abruptly told me to wait there a minute while she checked something. She disappeared upstairs again for 15 mins and came back and said i had been refused service yesterday and she wouldn't sell me any fish. I tried to explain that I wasn't going to put them in my tank but had a pond that the previous lady said was more suitable. She sternly told me no, it wasn't suitable until they were bigger, I asked if I could keep them in my tank temporarily and she again sternly told me no. Yesterday when I said the tanks in the store were much smaller than mine I was told it was okay because they were only in there temporarily, and when I tried to explain this and say my much bigger tank would only be temporary until they could go in the pond i was flatly told no.
I just got the feeling they had made up their minds and weren't going to serve me no matter what I said. I didn't get a chance to show the second lady a picture of the pond, and again I left in tears.
I have adopted many animals from this store over the years from their adoption corner and I always take care of my animals, but these people made me feel awful and as though I was purposely trying to aquire fish just to mistreat them.
Obviously I won't be using them again in future and will be cancelling my VIP membership.
