After waiting for over 3 weeks for the mortgage offer to come throught and a couple of e-mails to the advisor that never got a reply, i decided to call today and see what is taking so long...just to be told the id check we have done at the bank 1 month ago has gone missing so the offer can't be issued because of it..."so...weren't you planning to let us know we have to do it again....oh no...don't do it again...we'll just try in find the papework and call u back shortly" ...no call again of course and apparently if your mortgage advisor is off for whatever reason (ours seems to be off) no one can help ... so...they said they'll get our advisors manager involved but that didn't help as they never called back ...what a joke ....

Halifax Hereford is a total waste of time I have been in 3 times and told to go and use phone or Internet banking because the can't do anything over the counter in branch.

I think they are very good. The trick is to use the Halifax to your advantage like me don't have a credit card don't lend money unless certain can pay back.

It's ok for people on the dole or retired. If you work a regular job no chance! Saturday they close at 1pm. Absolutely useless bank.

Just stopped in at five to closing time, staff could not have been more amazing if they tried. Made so much time for me and fulfilled my request within minutes. Will always visit these guys in future rather than phone or internet. Thanks Tracey Assistant Manager and other friendly girl with awesome curly hair.

Never had a problem in 15 years, in branch or online, not sure why the one star by one member, seems that people like to blame others for their own some called health issues, and as they probably don't work they should have all the time in the world to be patient if they feel the need to call customer services, in this day and age people think they are centre of attention and need to be answered before anyone else.

Excellent service particularly by a young man called Michael and the manager whose name I didn?t get unfortunately. My partner and I went in on Thursday 1st April to open a joint account, however we had to make an appointment and have my proof of identity sent away, which would have taken too long as my partner was leaving for work and our time together was limited. Michael and the manager said there was an in-branch scanning system being trialled which would mean we wouldn?t have to wait for my documents to be sent off and he managed to find a very nice man in the Cheltenham branch who had a cancellation and was able to fit us in for a phone appointment the same day. All sorted much quicker than we had anticipated and it wouldn?t have been possible without the excellent service we received at every point. In particular Michael was endlessly patient and helpful. Thank you very much!

Truly appalling, statements not sent, bank charges deducted from account without reasons being given. Telephone waiting times exceed one hour, or line gets cut or telephone services dropped, especially at weekends. No way to get help as a very vulnerable customer. 4 months have passed and I still cannot get the issue resolved. Due to health reasons I cannot visit my bank. Service beyond woeful, which is exacerbating my condition.
