Very comfortable clean and tasteful room. Good hot shower, firm bed. Relaxed place, breakfast just about OK. For the price, I think it is very good.
Tip: have dinner at Foyles in the village.
I would stay again, if I were in the area.

Fabulous place to stay just out of Hay on Wye. We loved the rooms and the breakfast was amazing. We were lucky enough to have a lovely chat with Sally the owner and she was delightful. Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely lovely place, self check in, great welcome at breakfast. Beautiful house and surroundings.
*Need a car to access local eateries etc as no access to pavements, the road is a bypass

Was an absolutely lovely place to stay. My only complaint was that the room was freezing cold. Even with the heating on in the room it remained cold. I appreciate that it is an old stone building so it's not a complaint! Just be aware if you stay here in the winter it is quite cold in the rooms.
Breakfast was lovely. Will definitely stay here again.

Last night we had our Christmas party at ?The Black Mountain Lodge? our whole experience was excellent!
Food was absolutely exceptional, served efficiently, packed full of flavour, hot and with excellent service.
The bar area was run excellently and all staff/owners very friendly.
We loved dancing the night away!
All decorated beautifully for Christmas!
I highly recommend.

Beautiful and spacious rooms made in the outbuildings of this former farm. The sanitary facilities are somewhat outdated and literally creak when used. No fridge in the room and that costs one star for walkers. Breakfast is a full range of English breakfast of moderate to reasonable quality. Coffee wasn't strong enough. Breakfast also took a bit long. Location is perfect for walks in the Brecon Beacons. A bit remote from the track but certainly quiet enough. Spacious and beautiful domain. No restaurant on site, but options in the village. Price quality certainly ok.

Located just outside Glasbury the Black Mountain Lodge is somewhat tucked away and very easy to miss as you drive by. However it's well worth keeping a sharp look out for, it's very clean and tidy, the staff are great, as the food is good. Of course there's plenty of safe off road parking right outside too.. Recommend.

This place is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and accommodating.We were staying the night to do a charity motorcycle ride for air ambulance and we mentioned we are early risers getting up.The lady who runs it said if you want to have an early breakfast so you are all set for the bike ride just come down when you are ready.The food was amazing, my wife had cockles for dinner the night before and I've never seen a bowl stacked so high, I had peppered venison and veg it was beautiful.Breakfast was more of the same delicious food, I had full breakfast and the sausage was wonderful.Staff were so friendly and helpful, can't wait to go again as we found out the do bike nights once a month.Look out on their FB page.Thank you for making our stay and our charity ride amazing.

Really enjoyed our stay! We were here in the off season, and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Well, aside from all the sheep. Woke up looking out the window to see sheep and lamb trodding around in the field behind the lodge. Get some takeaway and eat on the picnic tables overlooking the pond. Rooms were well-decorated and cozy! The (included) breakfast consisted of juices, fruit, cereal, and your choice of main meal from the menu. Very friendly staff. We?d come back in a heartbeat!Noteworthy details: Lots of wildlife right in your backyard! Sheep, lamb, ducks. Also great parking facilities. Lots of space and overflow parking available.

Rooms are a little bit tired but staff were fantastic.
