Service was terrible on August bank holiday food took a hour to arrive when it did I ordered spicy chicken wings arrive with 4 over done chicken nuggets I wanted to send it back but my partner did not want to make a fuss so disappointed as the restaurant was overlooking the river .spoilt our day

We decided to come here after hearing positive comments from a family member so we decided to come here for a family celebration. We booked a week in advance, gave a 50 pound deposit and also gave a list of the meals required thinking this would save time for the chef if he/she had prior notice of our meal choices. We arrive at 7pm but sadly the meals didn't arrive until almost 8.30pm. The food was very gd however my broccoli stems were so charred the word carcinogenic went through my mind! Sadly there was no apology from management about the delay in our meals arriving however we did receive an apology from the 2 waitresses and believe there had been a communication breakdown between us arriving at 7pm and 8pm. The 2 waitresses did their best and would just like to say that another member of my family did give a tip to them as we felt they did their best in a bad situation. Sadly will probably never return as the food was very gd on the whole. Good luck.

Poor service, such a shame. A fantastic location. Need more staff. Ordered a pie of the day and that's all you get. No trimmings or veg.

We come here after being told in the hay on wye village multiple times that it had been taken over and the food was top notch so we decided to give it a go, and WOW I goto say the food was absolutely superb we had the pie and I it is absolutely huge good luck trying to finish it we was sceptical as it didnt come with any sides but it dont need it trust me....and my self I had the steak and I k kw my steaks amd again was sceptical as it doesn't say any thing about Oz weight but the owners come over and had a lovely chat and assured me that the day he has to weigh his meats is the day he will close his doors... its says thick cut steak and its a very big bit of steak we had a rib end sirloin wich he dry ages on the premises ? probably the best steak i have had.
His a cool little selection of craft ales and strawberry beer ? ?
Will be coming back very soon.. shame its a 5 hours away

£17 for a slab of pie. No extras. All other usual pub favourites offered the standard extras you'd expect and a cheaper price. I went for the pricier meal and just got this pie delivered to my table on its own!!! It was a bit odd, and expensive!!!

Only had food and a couple of drinks here. Really nice riverside pub with great quality food. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. We would happily eat there again.

Food took a little while to be delivered but it was well worth the wait. Good portion size, food was all freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Staff were all really friendly. Definitely would recommend.

So over the last few days I have enjoyed some of the best cuisine I have tasted in a long time. Last night, a delightfully spiced Thai Red Curry. Breadth of flavour, great thickness of the sauce, matched perfectly with the rice.
Today, a tip for those who relish goats cheese. Go for the Goats cheese starter, but ask for an extra slice of cheese. Makes a really delicious main course!
The extra honey the extra cheese works so well with the salad.
Then the apple crumble, don?t think I?ve tried that here before. But again the blend of spice in the apple and a delicious oat crumble is to die for!
With an accompanying pint of Abbot Ale at Happy Hour prices, a feast fit for a king.

We stopped in for dinner at chance in the middle of a long drive are were blown away by how amazing everything was!
I had the best meal I've had in recent memory and the service and view of the river were as delightful.
Not sure if I'll ever find myself in this part of the country again, but if I do, I'll be stopping by.

Went for lunch , ordered our food, had our starters which were good , then told my main wasn't available, so had to order somthing else, not ideal, then the mains came out it was greasy and over cooked (steak burger) and my wife had the veg curry, I laughed due to he lips and teeth being stained yellow. It was a very poor example of food . We left most of it . And never got our chips that were ordered either .
Drove home both with stomach ache .
Shame it wasn't better . Won't go back unfortunately
