Food & drinks: Superb meal with the family last Saturday. Great atmosphere, really friendly team and the food was spot on.Highlights were the Sourdough with Chicken Butter, Cheese & Truffle on Toast and Cauliflower Pavé. Very good Bloody Mary too!

I went to eat for work. Although it is small, it feels like a good old English pub and restaurant. Locals also appreciated it very much. The inside of the store is filled with beer mugs and photos, creating a very nice atmosphere. The food was a little salty, but very tasty. I think this is my preferred range. There were more than 10 people there, including some very big people, so the seats were a bit small.

I have lived in Winchester many years but had never visited Wykeham Arms for dinner, but recently I?ve remedied the situation, and visited with some friends.Upon arrival, the pub was absolutely buzzing, filled with Friday night revellers enjoying a pint or dinner. It had a great atmosphere, and the overall ambience was very charming. It?s deceptively large, and we were taken to the back of the restaurant area where it was a little quieter and had a nice table for dinner. To start, I had the leek and potato soup, which was very tasty, and came with a potato croquette, which was a fantastic addition. For my main course, I had the Wyk Pie, a very flavorful lamb pie topped with a cheesy mash. It was very nice and perfect "pub grub" for a cold evening in February. For dessert, I opted for the apple tart, which came with crème anglaise and ice cream. This was absolutely sensational, and easily one of the nicest desserts I've had for a long time. The pastry was crisp and buttery, the crème anglaise was perfect, and it all just worked together beautifully. The service we had was a bit mixed. On one hand, the main waitress that looked after us was very friendly, but then we found the other staff members were no where near on the same level. The food was quite slow to come out, but as we weren?t in a rush it was fine. It was a little awkward to be eating our desserts whilst they were setting up breakfast around us.Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal with some very good food and lovely wine. Although I found the service was friendly, it didn?t quite live up to the same level as the food.

I booked a table online for Mother?s Day which was very simple to do.The service was excellent all round and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and bountiful and as a bonus my mother received a special Mothers Day gift bag from the staff.I have been to the Wyndham Arms three times before and I will be visiting again soon and I also recommend it to friends and family.Thank you to the staff for making our afternoon a special experience.

Really liked this pub, we had a great lunch with excellent food, crispy pigs cheek followed by an excellent haddock & chips. My better half enjoyed her lamb pie especially the lamb jus. To finish we shared a very good sticky toffee pudding, the service was very good too, attentive without being intrusive. I enjoyed a pint of Pride again very good served by a very nice lady, unfortunately I ordered a glass of wine which was awful real shame, very rough and aggressive on the palate.

This is a fantastic pub that I highly recommend visiting if you?re in the area. I?ve had lunch, dinner, and breakfast at the Wykeham Arms and wish I could find an establishment like this one nearer to where we live. The food and wine list is excellent and the service is very good as well. The room we stayed in was larger than expected and filled with character as are the pub dining rooms. For lunch I enjoyed the fish and chips, and on a different visit had the crab and mussels fettuccine. Lunch and dinner menu do vary somewhat, and children are not allowed in the pub after 5pm (I think). The pub is a great place to stay - easy short walk through Kingsgate to the Cathedral and the shops.
