Sat in the lovely spacious pub garden in the shade of a tree. The pub was dog friendly and the playground looked fun. The food was delicious, fairly priced with generous portions. The staff were helpful and friendly and we’d definitely return.

We parked in the pub car park and popped in for a drink before settling off on a 4 mile walk across the countryside skirting Marwell Zoo and back to the pub. We visited The Ship Inn on our way home from Weymouth, and what started as a random stop has quickly become a must-visit checkpoint for future travels. The staff were absolutely brilliant, so welcoming, friendly, and understanding of the chaos that comes with six adults, four children, a baby, and three dogs!
