The oldest pub in Britain? Well I had to go to see it for myself! Very relaxing traditional pub with food options. Downstairs is where you can find more seating, a section of the old original wall behind perspex, and original wooden beams. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Really disappointed that although advertising kitchen being open til 8, having arrived at 7.35pm the kitchen was closed :( if its a choice to be flexible by mgmt depending on how busy, just say that. But don't say its open for food til 8 ?

The Sunday Roast beef (2 small pieces), potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were a bit dry, but damn the rest was fabulous! The gravy especially. The cheese cauliflower wasn't too cheesy, good mix!I tried to go Saturday night, but it was jammed packed! What a great atmosphere!! Would highly recommend!

Lovely pub with great staff! We've been several times. Really unique interior. My one issue is that it's often over run with dogs, and not well behaved ones - I tripped over a lead moving through busy tables to get to the loo and on the way back a huge dog jumped up at me. Please maybe limit them to an area, not everyone likes dogs.

Stopped here for a drink and bite to eat after wandering around the city. Easy to order, staff were really friendly and food came quickly. Tasty and freshly cooked. Wide range of food and drink in a place backed with history. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly service and conveniently located right in the city centre. Reasonable selection of Greene King's craft ales.
