A great place for a relaxing visit to this beautiful city of Winchester. Our large top floor room had lovely views across the Cathedral and town. So central, yet so peaceful. Walkable to just about anywhere here,including the railway station.
A quaint old pub, with great accommodation and a very hearty breakfast included. Room facilities are excellent.
Would recommend attending an Evensong service at the Cathedral? a great and spiritual experience, which doubles as an opportunity to explore this ancient Gothic masterpiece. We did this, with a bonus of a recital on the famous ?Father Willis? organ.

We stayed here one night including dinner and breakfast and came away thinking it could be so much better.
The good : location is awesome, our room was clean and a good size, and the complimentary items in the bar were appreciated., as was the option of complimentary room service.
The bad: there was no welcome from the girl at the bar who wasn't friendly. Service continued to be impersonal and brusque throughout our stay.
Dinner was ok but service was erratic. We'd gone for the meal deal but the staff didn't know what was included. We ordered wine which was plonked down on the table without opening or the option of trying out out. At no point were we asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything, this was repeated at breakfast which was nice but they need to learn how to cook a poached egg! We had t
ask for a second cup of coffee and weren't offered .
Finally despite the pub closing at 11pm, the bar staff then had loud music on which we had to call them to turn off.

Overpriced. Everything from the food to the drinks were just poor . Stains on the bed . Rude bar staff . Assistant manager girl was stuck up . Won?t be returning . Also they do not accept cash .

Great place right in the centre of the city. Bit dark in certain areas but you can drink and eat indoors and out.

We popped in for a breakfast and coffee with our two dogs on the way to visit the Cathedral.
We had the sausage and mushroom ciabatta which was beautiful. We sat outside but the service was still good

This pub is wonderfully located, with views of the cathedral and a homely, traditional feel. The Timothy Taylor Landlord on draft is superb. Highly recommended!

Fanatic pub/bar in the heart of Winchester. Directly opposite the cathedral with views. Great crowd of people with a mix of locals and tourists. I love this pub.
