What a waste of a beautiful resource, run down, derelict. Fab location. In much need of financial input so it can be enjoyed by the community.

Absolutely AWFUL leisure centre. The loos are filthy and stink of stale urine, there is black mould all over the shower cubicles, the floors are often covered in mud, the pool has bits in it and is filled with long clumps of hair. The pool attendants never enforce any of the dedicated swimming lanes so that teenagers and mothers with babies play in the middle of these lanes making it impossible to swim. The gym is not much better as the equipment is sticky, the machines need oiling or repairing as they mostly squeak, wobble or make odd noises when used. The majority of the gym staff just can't be bothered to help and would rather carry on their personal conversations than stop and show you how to use a particular piece of equipment. The one plus point is that the reception staff are nice and friendly. In contrast, the membership staff are completely ineffective. The centre runs a referral scheme whereby if you refer a new member, you are supposed to get a free month membership but they don't action this, so effectively they are deceiving their members by making a false offer. I gave up waiting for the free month membership so I ended up cancelling my membership and duly completed a cancellation form 6 days before the date that I was supposed to complete the form. What happened next was extraordinary and shows how utterly incompetent this leisure centre is. They had the audacity to send me a nasty letter saying I had to pay them money for a missed direct debit. In fact it is they who owe me money, not the other way around. I guess that their totally useless new administration company, Harlands, simply didn't get round to processing my cancellation form and yet they were mighty quick to try and extort money from me that I don't owe. I have been a member of this leisure centre for a year and after this farce I will never return nor recommend to anyone (I like!).

Swimming is an experience. While the pool is the right temperature, the lanes are too narrow, children are often found swimming in the lanes even though no one under the age of 10 is allowed in the lanes. The lifeguards look bored and don't come over if beckoned. The lane speeds are not regulated effectively. The showers are rather hot and the two shower curtains in the ladies changing area are not washed regularly enough to prevent mould, but that point seems to be getting better since complaints were made. The toilets always stink. I continue to go because i want to be fit. I can't comment on the other facilities as i don't use them.
