Probably the oldest book store in England. Nice, quaint, and smells of books! It's heavenly.

I called up the store today, requesting an unusual and very last minute favour for a friend there in Winchester, and without any hesitation the lovely chap said he would of course help. Half an hour later, my friend received his gift and was totally delighted. Truly exceptional customer service and I will definitely be popping in to thank the team and have a good mooch around the shelves in person when I am next in town. Simply amazing.

Beautiful and helpful. Perfect for gift buying and local history. Much more than a bookshop.

A lovely and charming old book shop with a great range of books including some beautiful special editions. The staff - two lovely young ladies - are very friendly and helpful finding some good reads. It`s such a pleasure to browse through books in such an atmosphere and get some recommendation with a friendly chat - online shopping can never replace this!

The place is always welcoming. It always makes us love books more. The kids' section is so thoughtfully set up, and regularly rearranged, to keep the munchkins coming. Love the ethos which very much emanates.

Great little shop. It was my first time visiting a couple of days ago and I was really impressed. I've worked in retail for around 14 years, so customer service is always high on my list. These guys did not disappoint. Really nice and friendly. They didn't have what I needed in store, but, they ordered it in and it was in the next day. Really happy with the customer service and the overall experience. These guys will now be my go to bookstore!

Quintessentially British, this quaint bookshop looks Dickensian with its wooden furnishing. Most likely frequented by Jane Austen whose family had an account with the shop and no doubt would be a place Austen found interesting.Would she have spent her days in best selling tomes of the time?Gathering inspiration for her next novel, hot off the press,Keeping her readers guessing as to what's next. When so much competition existed by established authors, not authoress. She being one of the few female writers who wrote about topics not yet covered, and gradually getting to be discovered. So having this bookshop so close to her home,Would have been heaven-sent as she wrote and read prolifically in her room, all alone.Or so I have read, but not been told.Kol-C, poet reviewer
