First time back in several years. After reading the recent reviews did not know what to expect. The Marwell did not disappoint. Lovely clean rooms, comfy bed, use of swimming pool and sauna which was much needed. Breakfast cooked fresh to order and very tasty indeed. Staff very helpful and friendly. Beautiful woodland setting and such value for money. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: Up to date decor. Clean and extremely adequate. Spacious.Nearby activities: Great location for all nearby activities as well of course Marwell zoo.Food & drinks: Great food and drink and very good value for moneyNoteworthy details: On site free car parking. Rooms can get quite warm, but patio doors opening to balcony

Piece of manure. Beds were manure. Carpet was manure. WiFi was manure. Room was the colour of manure. Curtains manure. Bathroom looked urine-coloured. I can see why the hotel is connected to a zoo - cheap raw materials.

This is a great location due to the zoo being next door and they have a pool, but the rooms could do with a bit of tlc.The restaurant serves great food.Nearby activities: The zoo of course

I stayed at this hotel evening of 02 Mar 24. It was found to be of very poor standard. The mattress was in poor condition, with large dips and springs poking into us. No mattress protector is used. One of the pillow cases had hair and make up on it from previous client. We were only provided with 1 towel. The room smelt musty. The bathroom did not appear clean. The shower curtain was yellow and stained. The sealant around the sink was mouldy. The room was connected to the room next door by a thin wooden door which resulted in us being able to hear our neighbours conversations, sex, mattress springs when they moved, and when they went to the toilet. One of the lampshades were hanging off.The carpet was worn and stained. It was an unpleasant stay and we both struggled to sleep and had back backs from the tired mattresses. We would not stay here again.Bar was pricey.Staff were nice.

Beautiful hotel. Dont expect the Hilton but rural beautiful and totally relaxing. It's not expensive for food and drinks, considering hotels love to hype up prices.Room is very comfortable and I asked for a little surprise for my new husband and was more than surprised by a handwritten card from the staff. Lovely stay.

Great location within a beautiful setting; sadly there was a lack of cleanliness in the room! The bathroom wasn?t the cleanest, hairs dotted all around. One of our pillow cases was also dirty with a dark smear! Not incredibly impressed however overall pleasant

Had a rare few days off with my wife and Son. Throughly enjoyed the short 2 night break.. Abbie on reception who was very helpful and had a wonderfully cheery smile. The room was good, nice and quite. The restaurant, although at first look didn't seem to cater for all our food requirements, but we actually throughly enjoyed the food. Although the pool area and hotel in general could do with a cash injection.. that's not to knock our enjoyable stay. Perfect location for a day at the Zoo. Thank you and will be re-visiting in the forthcoming months.

Went to an engagement party here last night. Bar service was absolutely terrible, 2 double spirit and mixers £34 worse then London prices!! The mixers were bottled and not even in the fridge so drinks were warm.

A very tired hotel which is tatty , worn and desperately needs refurbishment.Staff are trying hard but can't cover all the cracks. Dinner service was slow but food was freshly cooked and tasty. Breakfast was simply a shambles as staff struggled to cope, food was not great, the sausages were dreadful and the coffee was amongst the worst I have ever tasted!Rooms: Dirty and tiredFood & drinks: Breakfast not great

Fab family hotel. I almost cancelled our reservation after reading the reviews but kept it as a handy location for an overnight between Peppa Pig World/Paultons and Marwell Zoo and so glad I did. Our family room was great with bunk beds for the kids, and was warm, clean and quiet. Restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast, it is quite small, so they clearly struggle with the busy periods/ changing over tables but that can be said for many hotels. The pool was a huge perk which the kids loved. Parking is free and lots available. My one comment would be it would be great to have an early dinner session available, the restaurant opens at 6pm and there were lots of over-tired kids struggling to sit through their meal.
