No counter service, can only get maximum £500 out and surly staff. Definitely a proponent of the sinister move to a cashless society. I guess HSBC are too busy laundering money for Mexican drug cartels and taking the side of the Chinese Communist Party on Hong Kong.

No counter service.. therefore can no longer get change for my business. Was told to go to post office.. Will move my accounts to a different bank asap .

Had a very good experience here, wanted to close an account and they were able to complete everything within an hour. I tried using their call center the day before, who were useless and said it would take 5 days to complete. Very much worth my time to come in and get it sorted, staff are very helpful and competent

Absolutely useless! Was potentially a new customer for HSBC. Having watched the way they handled the pensioner in front of us in the queue should have warned us before we got served. They couldn't have helped her any less. Then it was our turn. Felt like they couldn't get rid of us sooner. Gave the impression that we were an inconvenience and that we should have used their website as it seemingly tells us everything we need to know (which it doesn't, of course). Took our custom elsewhere.

As someone who works long hours you need your bank to be open on a Saturday. All through lockdown when other banks on Winchester high street were open HSBC was closed which was very helpful..... not. Went last Saturday to put payments in and they are closed for a refurb. Why not tell your customers or your soon to be moving to another bank customers. Two weeks ago arrived at 1255 only to have door shut in my face because they close at 1pm ??????

Tried to contact branch to arrange meeting for my elderly mother, could not speak with local branch but spoke to someone in call centre (in Asia?) who was difficult to understand, who did not listen and was unhelpful suggesting we simply turn up. I was trying to avoid any unnecessary journey for my mother but it looks as if we'll just have to turn up and hope we're not turned away. Appalling service, why can't we speak to someone at our local branch?

Poor service. HSBC doesn't seem to care much about non-business customers. Their customer service is poor, particularly if you phone them on their normal number (not local num). As a student, I feel that HSBC aren't interested in helping me and so have moved to Nationwide, who seem to genuinely care about their customers.
