Although I did not stay. I parked my car. Logged it in at the terminal so I could have free parking ? and had a few drinks awaiting my grandchildren.... a week later, I got a parking ticket for £100 for a 30 min wait. The parking company would not confirm they checked the terminal for my details! So I was going to appeal but checked with Holliday Inn first to see if they had any way of checking for evidence. A member of staff called Sam contacted me and said that my parking tickets would be cancelled ... you do not get help like that much these days .. thank you Sam

Stayed here for one night to make use of the adjoining spa. For context, I arrived on a Sunday afternoon so it was fairly quiet.First impressions upon walking up to and into the hotel were great. The entrance felt quite grand, and the lobby you walk into was visually full of life, colour, and great design. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked me in. This hotel doesn?t use self-check in, as it is still using key cards at the time of writing this review. Saying that, it was quick and easy and I was swiftly directed to my room.My room was OK. I got a fairly reduced rate as I was staying on a less popular day. However, if I was paying full rate that was advertised at reception I would probably have been slightly disappointed at that price. There were two, what looked like, red wine stains on the carpet at the entrance of the room?s door, and the surface of the unit that contained the kettle was damaged. However, I was greeted by a hand written note so that was a nice touch. My first impressions walking in the room weren?t initially great, but neither of these issues affected me or my stay directly as they were just cosmetic issues but I wanted to mention them in the review. The bathroom was squeaky clean. In the evening, after my spa treatment, I had dinner in the onsite restaurant. It was delicious. I can highly recommend the lamb shank, and I would like to send some compliments to the chef. It was prime dinner time, but that didn?t seem to be an issue as I was seated immediately and received fast and efficient service from the restaurant & bar team the whole time I was there.I headed back to my room with a drink to relax after dinner. After waking up after a restful night of sleep and a comfy medium-firm bed, I had breakfast in my room. This was another great experience. All of my breakfast preferences were catered for, and nothing was missed from the list. They arrived promptly at my specified time, and the person delivering it was very friendly and professional.I would have no hesitations to return to this hotel in the future. Thank you!Food & drinks: Delicious food and great selection. Lots of variation to keep everyone happy!

We had an evening meal at the restaurant, unfortunately the food is overpriced due to the lack of quality of the produce. I had fish and chips, but the fish was bland and poor quality. Also, the chips were hard as if not cooked properly. The staff are friendly. Room was great plenty of parking.Rooms: Clean tidy amd spacious

Good hotel, nice sized room, clean, good choice of TV, good breakfast, spa closed too early but otherwise hard to fault. Free EV charging was a very welcome surprise. It?s a slow charger which is exactly what is needed when you?re spending the night in a hotel. I wish the UK Hotel trade overall would wake up to the requirements of electric car owners. We?re happy to pay for the facility to overnight charge our cars, at a slow rate. After all if you?re in the hotel you?re there for the night anyway. Rows of chargeable per night 13amp outdoor sockets will do us just fine.Rooms: Large, clean and we?ll appointed, Good choice TV channels.Food & drinks: Great breakfastNoteworthy details: Free EV charger

We stayed here for an overnight stop at Winchester on our way to Southampton port. The rooms were nice, comfortable and clean, shower was amazing. We didn't eat as we were told when we arrived that the restaurant was already fully booked, due to a coach tour staying at the hotel. Breakfast food was ok, but the queue was crazy, with you having to order your eggs and only one person to cook and serve. Parking was also good, lots of room although we had to pay extra for it.

They said if we have to Mark our out of 10 we will give her 20 plus. The hotel and the service and the food is lovely we will definitely come again thank you for having us xx

The hotel is just bricks, it is the staff that make the hotel special, yes the staff were polite, yes the staff said the right words in the right order at the right time, but it was as if they were reading a script. Very un friendly. We should have stayed for three nights, after some discussion with the manageress we booked out early and found another hotel.

We recently stayed at your Hotel during or recent business trip. My husband is a gold IHG rewards customer so we have stayed at many of your hotel. Unfortunately this was not one of our best stays. We arrived just after 11pm and we were greeted by the night staff and after over half an hour we eventually got into our room as obviously he had problems with the check in. On check in he informed us tat breakfast was served until 10.30 but we soon fond out that this was not correct which resulted in us missing breakfast. As i said previously we have stayed in many Holiday Inns and we were rather disappointed with this one. The bed was only and very uncomfortable. The room was dated and in need of renovation...There was an extension cable in the room as there was insufficient plug sockets ( i have never seen this in a hotel before). We did eat one night in the hotel and found staff not to be as attentive as they should be i.e. waiting for over 15 mins before someone served you at the bar. On check out our card was declined due to the reservation still being held on it...when we explained this to the staff she argued with us and told us that this was not the case....it most certainly was. Our experience with you will not stop us using Holiday Inn in the future in other locations but not with you. Elizabeth Holzke

Booked a weekend with girlfriends for catchup and pre birthday celebrations. Reception staff wonderful, very helpful friendly and pleasant. Room huge with 2 awesome soft double beds and lovely bedding. Sadly shower not great, nob fell off in hand when turning it. Would be great to have a drying radiator/holder for towels and swim wear. Dinner, initially nice, but we were rudely questioned by member of staff if 'one of us' were just joining us, as 2 of us had ordered starters and 3rd had left table briefly.returning and staff implying she had 'just joined us and not booked '. Perhaps if staff member had checked with reception and kitchen they would have known there were 3 of us! Very very limited option for vegan. 1 of us is vegan. Had a burger or pizza or plain pasta option!!! Breakfast she had to seek out someone to ask, chef making eggs very unhelpful unfortunately. Fab decor and over okay stay but definite tweaks and more attentive staff needed.

Amazing value for money. Great team. One of the nicest Holiday Inns I have visited. Because it's a bit out of town it's lovely and peaceful. Room was a good temperature, had a lovely bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. In house restaurant was great, very pleasant staff. Flawless.

Efficient but frosty reception. Room basic but clean. Was very hot when I entered as the a/c was not on. Took a bit of time to cool down. Bare minimum in terms of amenities in the room. Breakfast was good. Shame they have only one coffee machine that makes watching paint dry and more exciting experience! As an IHG Silver Elite member - was not offered any benefits and when I asked for a slightly late checkout (1 pm as opposed to 11 am) - was told no. Disappointing. They only have two EV chargers and as I write - one car has been there since last night! Overall - an underwhelming experience - a 3-star experience from a 4-star hotel.

Our first time at this hotel and a Holiday Inn, and was very impressed. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. 5 stars are well earned. We stayed in a suite for a couple of nights to celebrate a birthday. The suite was lovely (see photos), which I'll go into in more detail for those who may be interested in trying it. Both nights we ate in the hotel restaurant and had nice meals. They were very kind to us in the restaurant and let us have a nice table again the second night because they knew we were celebrating and had enjoyed the view out onto the patio the first night. They also kindly surprised us with a slice of cake arranged beautifully on a plate with a birthday message on. It's the attention to details like this which make the stay memorable and happy. In the room there was a notice which asked if your stay was 10/10 as it's their intention for every guest to have a 10/10 experience, and to let reception know if they were not meeting this so they can do all they can to make your stay a 10. We found the staff all super friendly and our stay was most definitely a 10 without having to raise any issues. I'd like to say a big thank you to the restaurant staff and reception for being so friendly. For those interested in the suite, it was a lovely big room and we were very comfortable there. The bedroom part itself was very spacious with a nice big bed, with USB and plug sockets. There are 2 x TVs in the suite (one by the bed and another in the lounge area). We took our Amazon Fire stick and it worked in the bedroom TV, which had an electrical socket nearby that the Fire stick could reach. There was also a comfy chair near the bed. The mini fridge contained complimentary soft drinks and chocolate (can of Coke, carton of orange, small bottle of still water, and a can of fizzy water, plus a Double Decker and a Mars). There was still room for our own drinks in the fridge. Above was a safe and tea/coffee with a small kettle. The wardrobe contained bathrobes and slippers, iron and ironing board and hairdryer (which we didn't use, except the slippers). In the lounge area there was a nice round table and chairs for 4 situated by an internal window which had partial views of the bar area but was in no way intrusive as it had net curtains plus thick curtains to pull if desired. I liked the ability to look to see if the bar was busy without leaving the room! There was a comfy sofa - perfect for one person (the matching chair was near the bed). Also a desk area, a coat rack, a coffee table, side tables and lamps, and a chest of drawers with a nice silver globe on. The bathroom had low level green lighting which stayed on to guide you in the dark - a thoughtful idea as it would be easy to lose your way in the large bedroom in the dark. The bathroom consisted of two sinks, a WC, a bath and a separate shower. There were "Soak" toiletries placed in the shower and by one of the sinks (locked into their holders). Usually I take my own soap, shampoo and conditioner, but on this occasion didn't as I read they were supplied. The only observation I made was that if you are not a shower person and prefer to wash your hair in the bath, you cannot reach any toiletries from the bath to wash yourself or your hair with. I appreciate most people may use the shower, but if you do prefer a bath then take your own toiletries or a couple of paper cups to decant some of the shower toiletries into! Thanks again for a lovely stay!

As a Silver Elite IHG member I was drawn to stay here whilst visiting family. On arriving, my husband and I were impressed at the hotel entrance. Unfortunately we had to wait for reception staff to appear as there was no one on the desk. When the lady appeared she had no personality or professionalism at all. She merely asked if we wanted to dine that night and gave us our room number. There was no smile or general conversation, ie if we'd travelled far, stayed before etc... We arrived in our room number 359 and were concerned about the damp and general standard of the bathroom - see photograph. The following morning we visited the nearby Science Museum and put the card on our door indicating our room was free to clean. We came back late morning changing the card to say we were inside, but then left advising our room was free to clean. We returned at 6.00pm after a lovely family reunion to find our room unserviced, ie towels to be changed, bins to be emptied etc. On going to Reception we were met by the lady who had booked us in. She stated we?d left the card on our door indicating our room should not be serviced. This was incorrect - we knew exactly what we had requested. The problem was there were no housekeeping available, so we had no alternative than to return to our room armed with clean towels. We must have looked to other guests as though we worked there!! To get over this, we decided to have drinks on the terrace. The hotel advertisement states 'relax with a drink, afternoon tea or light meal in our open lobby or on our sunny terrace?. Being a warm and sunny evening we asked for drinks on the terrace but were told the terrace was out of bounds - see photo. There is building work being undertaken there however the terrace continues to be advised as accessible. After a day of disappointment we decided to curtail our trip. This hotel is not cheap however we encountered unhelpful reception staff , unacceptable room service, inaccessible areas and poorly maintained rooms. Even on 'checking out' there was a problem - our bill was not available as the hotel?s printer was initially not working and on asking for this to be sent via email, it never arrived....

The staff really make this place, so attentive and kind, especially when really busy like this evening 27th Aug but excellent customer service and people skills making everyone feel settled. Big praise to the two young ladies working this evening to attend to everyone despite it being busy, really do make the place! Great modern lounge area/lobby plenty of seating and great lighting. Rooms are spacious and we'll equipped. My other slight change would be for a little bit of updating/tlc in the ensure, but otherwise great, lovely breakfast and wide range and attentive staff all around!
