A lovely warm inviting and friendly pub in a beautiful English rural village. I took some friends in the summer and they absolutely loved it. in the winter the log burners make it so cosy and welcoming.

bar tenders are rude, and the manager doesn't know his head from his toosh.
My mum recently move close to the pub and decided her and my dad really liked it so for easy teas kn a Friday we used to go regularly. and on a few occasions the food has been decent.
but 4 out of 10 times the foods been rubbish, and the service has been just as bad.
The last time I went there was no warning of a power cut. I tried to use my discount card and the bar tender acted like I had pooped on his strawberries because it was an extra effort to scan the card.
Then the food took ages to come just as we were about to complain the food came and just as we started to eat. the power went to the property.
now don't get me wrong power cuts happen, but how the staff and the manager acted was disgusting. there was no telling us what happened and how they were fixing it there was no offer of a replacement or another day to come back there was nothing. nothing said to us until we left.
I was actually watched whilst I downed my pint because she wanted to go home.
the manager whilst this was happening was running round like a headless chicken shouting at his staff because he'd have to stay until it got fixed.
he actually shouted out the alarm code in a panick and told his staff off for constantly raising their voices at him.
my daughter 4 years old told me she was scared I know the bar tender heard her but again nothing was said no apology not even is she OK? nothing.
and they think for 6 of us a £30 gift card is a good enough appology.
I seriously wouldn't bother entering the pub it's a waste a full on shambles!

Great friendly staff and lovely food . Dogs welcome too so nice to share a great visit with your fur babies ! We stayed with them for two days and had a great time . Will visit again soon ! Thank you !
