We have been a few times, had a roast dinner, very good, excellent gravy. Second meal last saturday evening, had fishcakes, again very good. We love the laidback atmosphere and friendly staff, and the landlady very friendly and a dog lover, introduced her Jack Russel puppy to our Jack Russel, she wasnt imoressed but we loved him. Will definately be returning regularly.

Met up with some friends and family here last weekend for dinner.
Wasn?t sure what to expect as we?d effectively just searched for dog friendly pubs and just picked one at random with decent reviews, but the old bell and crown surpassed all expectations.
We were greeted warmly by the hostess, dog was made a fuss of and introduced to the two pub dogs, drinks orders taken followed by food.
When it arrived the food was absolutely excellent, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon / evening, and has to be some of the best pub grub I?ve eaten in years (high praise for me!) so I would have no hesitation in recommending folks give this little gem a try.

Having been before the food at this place is really good and it's a dog friendly pub. It would be 5 stars all round if not for the managers attitude at the end. A large group of us for my nans 91st birthday split the bill as we aren't a close family but had already purchased all drinks separately at the bar. The initial waitress was very accommodating for this and helpful and friendly. The manager at some point got involved and was remarking and shaking her head about the situation blaming us for splitting the bill as the figures were not adding up. It turns out there was a receipt left on the other side which was an honest mistake but rather than apologise she blamed the young waitress and made a rude remark towards her. Unprofessional and quite frankly left a sour taste on leaving a lovely meal at a beautiful pub.

Celebrated my mums birthday here. 2.07.25. Couldn't fault a thing. Food was great,lovely atmosphere and excellent service. See you guys again soon?

Delicious roast dinner served really quickly. Amazing puddings. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon sponge were so light. We always get a warm welcome and today was no exception. Thank you.

Food was excellent. Service very good. They fitted us in on a busy Saturday night with no reservations. Just moved to the area will certainly be visiting again.

Disappointing visit on 1/10/2024.
We've used before and it has been good - but this time, we three old-timers were unlucky as there were no fires - apparently the chimneys were being renovated - a few space heaters might have helped take the chill off.
Food was O.K. but drink prices were excessive: A 175m glass of average quality Chardonnay £12!
