Visited Elm Park Garden Centre yesterday to buy pot plants for cemetery on looking around I found a garden bench hugely reduced spoke to assistant they delivered it early today fully assembled and the staff were so kind and helpful

I really wanted to like this garden centre - it?s family owned and run, not a chain, but there are quite a few issues I encountered over 3 visits and so I won?t be back for a while? firstly there is nothing enticing or attractive about the outside. The front is bare with no planting or softening of the landscape, no shade in the car park, no pots with seasonal colour - nothing. I had taken my elderly mum for a browse and she was disappointed as it looked like we were visiting a storage unit, not a garden centre. Secondly, the staff we spoke to on this visit, and on my next two visits, didn?t seem to want to help, giving short answers and turning back to what they were doing. They weren?t rude - just seemed disinterested. I wanted some advice and perhaps to be directed to plants and equipment we were after, but had to go find it all myself. Thirdly was the plants themselves. I found the tools and hose I wanted on my visits fine, but I had less success with the plants - which is why I asked two of the staff. There were fewer plants in this garden centre than in others around Basingstoke and surrounds - so I gave up and didn?t buy any hostas, grasses or the lavenders I?d come for. A shame, as I said, I really wanted to like this place :(

Garden Centre is clean, bright and well stocked with a large variety of products to spend money on. Coffee shop has lovely cakes and serves cups of cappuccinos which are full not just lots of foam.
