Nice pub with good drink and food options. We went on a Friday when they have a barbecue night. We didn't try any of the options from the main menu. Limited veggie options but there is some choice.
Nice outside garden with a play area for kids as well.

Mark?s got the charm of a traffic warden and the work ethic of a brick.
He doesn?t own the pub (thank God), just sits around acting like a dictator with zero customer service and even less respect for the staff. Always parked on his backside near the pumps, barking at people like he?s running MI5. Absolute mood killer, avoid the place until he?s replaced

I recently have been to this pub, I was sat outside when a young member of staff was bringing food out to tables. The manager of the pub came out shouting and swore at her because she wasn't supposed to be serving outside.
This was absolutely disgusting! Everyone sat outside heard this, a lovely lady went over to ask if she was okay.
I really hope other staff aren't being spoken to like this!
This man doesn't deserve to be a manager or have people working for him!

We popped in to the George Inn yesterday after a game of golf and a child free afternoon, we were very impressed first time here at the George. The food and drink were incredible, the customer service was really attentive and it had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, we both had the king prawn linguine which was absolutely fantastic so much flavour, will definitely be back with the children soon!

Booked a family room for 1 night, on arrival bed the second bed was not made, they came and made the bed but the actual bedding was stained. The sofa bed is uncomfortable and the double bed is very soft. Only 1 bulb out of the three worked on the main light and there is a light outside the room which makes the room very light overnight. They must have had a party as the music went on til midnight and then noise continued til 12:30, ended up leaving the room at 12:45 and driving home as we could not sleep. Was not pre warned about the event or contacted or received an apology. Would not recommend for a family. Sadly don?t get to try the breakfast.

Nice location and room but but but? we were asked to pay for the room on arrival, I paid, as we were leaving my husband who wasn?t aware of this was asked to pay again and did. I immediately realised what had happened and brought it to the attention of the young women who had charged us. She said the owner Mark was out and only he could refund us.One week later despite numerous phone calls we are still waiting for the refund. I really do not understand their problem. My advice would be not to stay here.

Amazing food! Have eaten here twice now and cannot fault a thing!
Venison loin cooked to perfection!
Steak was perfect and plentiful, with incredible hand cut chips and perfect creamy peppercorn sauce!
Their scotch egg and chorizo jam is an awesome and inventive dish!
Would highly recommend anything they offer as they clearly put alot of thought and effort into all the meals they produce!
Hats off to all the staff at the George!

I'm afraid our stay was far from enjoyable.
We chose the George from lots of options because we wanted to stay in a pub where there would be dinner, a bar and the football without driving.
Soon after our arrival we were told the chef had called in sick so we would have to go elsewhere for dinner. That can't be helped but where was the Landlord to stand in and offer what was possible?
When we got back, I settled in to watch the football only for the person running the bar who said she was only there as a favour to call last orders at 9pm. Everything was being turned off by 9.35 and I missed the last few minutes of the football which had turned into an exciting game. I was told I could take my unfinished pint to my room but the mood was lost and I abandoned it. The football was not available on the TV in my room as she claimed. By the way, people who came in to watch the football were also told she was closing and left.
In the room, there were no cups for the kettle, the radiators were off (and electric heater supplied), the light above the mirror didn't work and the shower was the most useless I have ever experienced. In general the room was tired and needed refurbishing. I mean electric cables tacked to the skirting, exposed and loose central heating pipes, windows that need new hinges failing to block the noise of the road.
Why a bath? Why not a proper electric shower? The world outside the George is no longer the 1970s.
So, no, I'm afraid we won't be back.

Stayed overnight in the single room with en suite. Pub is charming and breakfast was excellent. Mattress was on the soft side. Room well equipped. It's a pub so understandably plenty of ambient noise from downstairs during opening hours and a little beyond so don't expect a silent hotel room. Overall a lovely place and a genuine bargain with breakfast included.

Stayed at the Inn and had dinner there whilst passing through with my furry friend. Everything was fabulous, highly recommended. Friendly staff but not in a false way, relaxed atmosphere and food was outstanding. My mother in law said it was the best fish and chips she has ever had.
Small single room but clean and tidy with very comfy bed.
If you?re passing through like me, you won?t go far wrong if you?re looking for an evening out or a stay over.
